The Slow as Molasses Techniques to Increase On Line Traffic to Your Website

by winchester73
How many people are online? According to Internet World Stats, the figure is well over 1 billion. And all you need to be successful with your internet business is for a small fraction of these people to visit your pages and check out your offer. No matter how many posts you will see in the various internet marketing forums, every few days (if that) someone will pose the same question. "How do I increase traffic to my website"? .

This can seem like a difficult task considering how many other web sites are out there. In July 2007 survey, Netcraft received responses from over one hundred and twenty five million websites; that was a one month increase of over three and a half million new web sites. While these numbers are daunting, keep in mind you are not competing with every site on the internet.

There are many ways to increase on line traffic. Three in particular have proven to be extremely effective. The only problem is they are not going to bring you more web site traffic overnight or the next night or even the night after that but they do work

1. Directory link Submission
There are thousands of web directories online. You can always find a company that will make directory link submissions for you at a fair price but even these places will not cover them all. If however you decide to do it yourself then you have got a long, tedious job ahead of you.

So why do it? Back links. Web directories are an effective way to get tons of incoming links to your site. This in turn leads to a higher page rank from the search engines. Keep in mind also that search engines are suspicious of any website that experiences a sudden spike in its traffic. Directory link submission allows you to increase web traffic more naturally which is more to their liking and your benefit.

2. Web Site Traffic Exchange
You sit there surfing and clicking until you feel as if you were born with carpal tunnel syndrome. You have also heard that a web site traffic exchange is useless so what is the point? The point is they are only useless to those people who do not know what they are doing. Do not use a web site traffic exchange to sell your product. Instead use them to capture leads for building your mailing list. Once people sign up to your opt in mailing list, then you can start sending them emails with snippets of information and a link pointing toward your website. This maybe a round about way for you to increase web traffic but in the process you are also building a responsive email marketing list. You may have to do a lot of clicking when you are just starting out but down the road it can pay off quite handsomely.

3. Reciprocal linking
Ugh. First you need to do a search to find a website in your niche. Than you have to make sure the site is not in direct competition with you. After that compose a personalized email to the webmaster requesting a link exchange, then wait for a response. Rinse and repeat. It is not worth the effort right? Wrong. Search engines take reciprocal links into consideration when determining your page rank. Yes back links are more valuable but a good from a high ranking website is still important. If you decide to go the reciprocal link route then try to at least trade with websites that are within your niche.

No these methods will not win any awards for speed, but that is the whole point. You are going to run across many ads that guarantee you overnight traffic. Very few if any can keep that promise. Besides you are building a business for the long haul. Just be patient and consistent in utilizing these techniques and you will get more web site traffic before you know it.

A Bigger Box

by yotengoid
Last Monday, I attended a birthday party for a musician/studio-owner friend of mine. The party was held at a fairly rowdy honky-tonk in historic Gruene, Texas.

There was bar-b-que, chips and hot sauce, and adult beverages. The focus of the party was a free-for-all jam session.

Who else, but musicians, gets together and "works" for fun? I'm trying to imagine a bunch of accountants, getting together over bar-b-que and beer, with spreadsheets and green visors. For fun.

Not gonna happen.

Back to the party.

It was a blast- but I left early. As much fun as playing guitar can be, I felt the pull of my laptop. I had a couple of promotions going on, some coaching clients who needed help.

The internet marketing game is addictive. I'm hooked.
But, I got an internet marketing lesson between sets at the jam session. It was fascinating.

There was a guitar player there who was just amazing. Played rings around everybody else there. He sang like a country Otis Redding. He 's a nice guy.

He 's trying to live like I used to live- playing bars in Texas for $30/$50 a night.

I took him aside, and asked him if he'd like to break into the next level. I offered to introduce him to my European agents. I might as well have been talking to a brick.

His vision extends just about as far as the next bar gig. He 's about as likely to fly to Europe and tour as he is to fly to the moon on a motorcycle. It ain't gonna happen.

Why?

Why can some musicians make the transition to recording artists and touring acts while others, who are just as talented, spend their lives playing bars for no money?
It 's the size of their "box."

Bill Hibbler and I were talking about this today, and we realized that the same thing is true of internet marketers.

Why do some internet marketers just "take off" and build successful businesses, while others, who are just as talented, continue to struggle?

Bill 's the one who said it, "It 's the size of their box." Your world can be as big or as small as you let it be. That 's your box. You can succeed as much as you let yourself succeed- that 's your box, too.

You attract what you focus on. Focusing on concepts and objects that expand your box will make your world bigger.

I hang out in several internet marketing forums, and help run one. When I read threads posted by successful marketers, they're almost always positive in tone, and energetic. When I read threads by those who are struggling, they're almost always negative, limited, and dull.

My guitar playing buddy would do great in Europe- he 's the perfect combination of blues and country.
He just can't visualize doing it. He focuses on how hard it is to "make it" in the music business, how club owners don't want to pay very much for bands, how the audience doesn't appreciate his music. And that 's what he attracts.

I laid it out for him in plain English- and he just couldn't see it. He could be touring in Europe next month, making plenty of money, and getting the appreciation he deserves.

He could be, but he won't be. He'll still be playing in dives for drunks who don't appreciate him, and taking home just enough money to get to the next gig.
That 's not romantic, or noble. That 's living in a tiny box.

One thing I've learned, from studying Joe Vitale 's "The Attractor Factor," and several other books, is that we create our own world. We attract what we focus on.
We can have, do, or be anything we want- and what we have, do or are is the result of our inner landscape.

It 's actually one of the most profound discoveries I've ever encountered.

And it leads to a word of caution. Think about it- you attract what you focus on. If you carelessly focus on failure, scarcity, poverty, failure, and unhappiness, then that 's what you'll attract.

What do you see when you watch T.V.? What do you hear when you listen to the radio? What is the story in the books you read?

What are the topics of the conversations you have?
That 's what goes into your mind, and that 's what you're focusing on.

That 's what you're going to attract.

The magic happens when you realize that you're responsible for your own outcome, and start doing what it takes to achieve the outcome you want.

When you start focusing on what you want to attract, you'll attract what you want.

When you write down your goals, and look at them every day, and take the action necessary to achieve them- you will achieve them.

Since you're creating your world, and since you have to live in it, doesn't it make sense to create a world of prosperity, success and happiness?

Can you allow yourself a box that big?

A Guide to Internet Marketing

by acbuddy
Promoting a web site is an arduous task. Small business sites do not have the capital necessary to partake in mainstream advertising. However, there are ways to effectively launch a new site without spending millions of dollars. Let this article serve as a guide for all your internet marketing needs.

TV and radio commercials and print advertising are very expensive. This is undoubtedly the best way to announce your business to the world, but the costs are prohibitive. A full page ad in a prominent magazine or other publication can run as high as $50,000 per ad. TV commercials can run just as high; if the commercial runs during a popular television show or sporting event, the amount you will have to pay can well exceed the costs of print advertising.

So, if you do not have enough money in the coffers for traditional advertising, you need to resort to online marketing. This is not a bad thing. Offline advertising (i.e. radio, TV, print ads) is sometimes not effective. Marketing on the internet is cheaper, and if done correctly, can give you much more bang for your buck.

The cornerstone of internet marketing is search engine submission and optimization. There are hundreds of different search engines and directories on the internet where you can submit your web site for a listing. This is fairly easy to do. Simply sign up for a monthly submission plan with a credible search engine submission service. There are literally hundreds of these submission services on the internet; you can find them by performing a search on Google. However, be wary of submitters that claim to be able to submit your site to 75,000 search engines. Such services are scams, and they will submit your web page to FFA pages and bogus link pages that can actually get you banned from the search engines. You should only do business with submission services that submit to the major engines and directories.

Now that we have covered submission, we need to talk about search engine optimization (SEO), which is even more important. To optimize a site, you need to maximize keyword density and optimize the positioning for the words or phrases that best characterize the subject matter of your site, and you need to use proper Meta tags so that the search engines can interpret your web pages. If you do not know how to optimize your web site, you should search for an optimization professional on Google. Steer clear of SEO experts who want to charge $1,000 per month or more. Their goal is to bleed you dry before you figure out that they really can not help you get to the top of the rankings. Stick to providers who will optimize your site for a one-time fee.

More important than SEO is link popularity. Link popularity is the number of web sites that currently link to your site. The more inbound links you acquire, the higher your search engine ranking will be. There are several ways you can garner links. You can submit your site to free directories, or join a link exchange and trade links with other sites, or, you can author articles and press releases and submit them to article directories, who will then distribute your articles to webmasters looking for free content, who must link back to your website when they publish your article on theirs.

If you are not patient enough to wait for your search engine ranking to improve, you can attract visitors to your web site instantly by using pay-per-click advertising (PPC). With PPC, you pay a certain cost per click to have an ad for your web page run at or near the top of the search engine listings for certain keywords. This can be extremely costly and ineffective. It is not uncommon for webmasters to blow thousands of dollars on PPC advertising and make only a few sales.

The best way to promote your site, if you are actually selling something, is through an affiliate program. You need to provide an affiliate code to other online merchants so that they will place your banner on their site; every time you make a sale that resulted from an affiliate referral, the affiliate gets a commission. Some internet companies have thousands of affiliates, and get all the business they would ever need or want this way; and it costs you nothing. To recruit affiliates, you should submit your affiliate program to as many directories as possible (there are directories where you can list your affiliate program for free). The best way to find affiliates is by listing your program on forums or message boards visited by webmasters who are looking to generate additional revenue for their online business. You will have to consult with an experienced programmer who can set up the program so that the affiliate codes can be tracked properly.

If you are persistent and use all of these methods, you are likely to succeed with internet marketing. It will probably take approximately 3 years of performing each of the tasks outlined in this article, on a daily basis, to get where you want to be. Just stick with it and your efforts will be rewarded in the long run.

Internet Marketing via website appearance as an essential as Sales Generating Tool

by Guest
In this article we will go over the most important aspects that when applied synergistically will take your web presence appearance and usability to the next level.

Building a Trustworthy Visual Presence

The importance of the visual presentation of the information on your site cannot be underestimated. The first impression to your audience is strong and memorable whether it is good or not. Unattractive websites can be a turn off. Many people think that if you didn't place any effort in making your business look good, chances are you won't care much about servicing your clients. Even more important, your website appearance can be utilized to evoke certain emotions in people; help building trust, emphasize on your marketing message, and as a result affect your sales.
Color Is a Powerful Weapon
Color is an important element of design that is used to create ideas, convey messages, invoke feelings. Colors often have different meanings in various cultures. Certain colors tend to invoke a similar reaction from most people - the overall difference being in the shades or tones that are used. Colors determine the psychological effect on viewers.

Color is one of the keys to good web design. Colors should be chosen wisely as they can affect the mood of the viewers. They should be chosen in such a way so as to suit the subject of the website. Choosing the right colors for a website involves more than deciding on which colors you like. Achieving color harmony is a science. Our statistics show that sometimes by changing the color scheme of your marketing materials the conversion rates can be affected by as much as 15%.

And remember that color should enhance your site 's experience, but because so many people perceive color in so many different ways, color cannot be used to define your site 's experience.

Usability and User Friendly Design

Have you ever gone to a website where the information seemed to relate to your needs, visually was very appealing, but it was impossible to figure out how to get what you went there for at the first place?

Front end usability plays an important role in the effectiveness of your site to generate leads. Consumed by today 's busy life most people simply do not have time to search for the information that they need. Information should be displayed in clear type, normal size letters and in contrast to the design. Most significantly important marketing messages must be prominent and clear.

Navigation must be easy to understand. The user should be able to get to any area of your site in no more then 2-3 mouse clicks. For complex and multi level navigation it is a good idea to use a "bread crumb" indicator displaying the current position on the website.

For example, when a website visitor is on your contact page, instead of displaying just a page titled "Contact Us" you may want to display:
Home > About the company > CONTACT US

This visually represents that visitor at the "Contact Us" page located in "About the company" section.

When a visitor is inclined to make a purchase you need to provide tools to fulfill users' request. Whether it is a complex shopping cart solution or a simple contact form it is necessary to have fool proof systems in place.

Thank you for taking your time and reading Website appearance is essential as an Internet Marketing Tool. We encourage you to use this information to improve sales on your website today.

Internet Marketing Insight - How Google Ranks Your Pay Per Click Campaign (why you need to know)

by pgrundner
Let me first say that Google Adwords (Google pay per click), when done correctly, will give you the best return on your money compared to other online advertising options. At the same time, if you don't know how Google evaluates your campaign, it could cost you a fortune.

Let??™s first examine how Google is different from other search vehicles. Most search engines base the placement of your ad on how much you pay per click, i.e., the one who pays the most for a specific keyword will be positioned in the #1 spot.

Not so with Google. In an attempt to deliver more relevant content to its readers, Google uses several parameters to determine the order in which it serves up its ads. Not knowing or ignoring these parameters can cost you big! And unless your enterprise has very deep pockets, it can even mean the difference between success and failure.

Many people are confused about some new terminology being used. Google in particular uses the term "Adwords" when referring to pay per click campaigns. This is not to be confused with "keywords", or the basic word units people type in search functions when researching specific topics.

When doing a Google Adword Campaign (pay per click campaign), your ad position will be based on keyword selection, ad relevance to keywords, bid price, average click rate, how long visitors stay on your site, and even the match of your landing page to your ad and keyword. Essentially, you could be paying the most per click and be listed in the 5 position! Or vise versa, you could be paying less than the top 5 bidders and be in the #1 spot!

When setting up your Google Adwords (pay per click) campaign, all these elements will affect your position in the ranking, so make sure that:

??? Your keywords are not too broad
??? Your ad relates to your keywords (keyword grouping is important)
??? Your bid price is at least competitive
??? Your click rate is good (above 1-3% is great, below 0.5% is a killer)
??? Keywords you choose match the content on your landing page
??? You use text instead of Flash. This is very important??¦using Flash landing pages without text will affect your ad position in a negative way (Google perceives pages with no information the same as pages with non relevant information).

The more you adhere to these parameters, the lower your cost per click and the better your conversions will be. I appreciate Google 's well thought out ranking policies. When searching online for info, I hate nothing more than clicking on an ad that sends me to a page that has little or nothing to do with what I am researching. If I don't see relevant information within a few seconds, I'm gone, and irritated about the waste of time!

Look for our next article, where we??™ll cover ???The biggest mistake when doing Google Adwords???. Sign up for our ???Marketing Insight??? ezine and be the first to view it.

The Secret Psychology Behind Internet Marketing

by comlev
Television may have been the greatest invention that rocked planet earth in the 1900s (although many things which contributed to television 's birth were discovered and invented as early as the 1800s). However, it 's the internet boom of the 20th century that is causing the hullabaloo in today 's world.

With the Internet, what was impossible before has become possible now. What was impossible to know then has become possible now, with just a click of your fingertip. This is the new era of knowledge and of information explosion. This is the era of the internet revolution.

One thing significantly brought about by the internet craze is the possibility of buying and selling almost anything through the use of computers. You just need a computer set, a good internet connection and voila! Before the internet, the catchphrase was "let you fingers do the walking." Today, you sure can use your fingers to do the walking for you, but not through the telephone system. The internet has revolutionized the way people buy and sell their products.

Imagine this: A digital camera, its model, and all its specifications right before you eyes. And you just need to click your mouse to get all other information you want before deciding on the purchase. So, you want to buy a tent dress but you do not have the time to go to the department store? Shop right in the privacy of you home. Surf the internet, look for the dress style you want, indicate your size and color preference, make arrangements as to how it is to be purchased, whether cash on delivery or through credit cards and there you are. Did it take you longer than 20 minutes?

The revolutionary method of buying and selling things through the internet has given rise to internet marketing. Internet marketing is just like your ordinary advertisement copies published by your local newspapers. But this time, it takes more than the ordinary way of advertising. Internet marketing is more technology-savvy, more persuasive and more strategic. In
marketing products or ideas through the internet, the seller does not sell the products pointblank. Instead, the seller makes you feel like he is offering you an opportunity that you should not miss. He is not offering you the product, but a lifestyle that goes with the product.

While marketing has moved on from the newspapers, to the radios and to the boob tubes, and now to the computer through the internet, its basics have not changed much. The basics or the psychology behind marketing remains the same, whatever media is involved. The strategy has only been improved as it can now reach a greater number of people from all walks of life.

After you read this, you will find out that there is no secret to the psychology of marketing after all. So what are the basics, and the psychology of internet marketing?

1. First and most important is the existence of a good product. While it is true that good marketing can sell a not-so-good product, it is better to start off with a good product or a good idea. Make sure that the product or the idea is novel. Something that is not commonly heard or found or it may be common but you have reinvented the product or you have found a new way of doing something.

2. With a good product or idea in your hand, then you can proceed into concocting a story that would sell your product or idea. Your clients or buyers will not be able to physically see the product so you have to exert an extra effort to make them understand, feel your product and understand its value.

The lack of physical communication between the buyer and the seller makes internet marketing doubly hard. You have to create a mystery behind your products; something that will catch the buyer 's attention at first glance. Remember, you are competing with thousands of other products and ideas that are reachable just with the click of the computer mouse.

You have to input dreams in your story excite your buyers and make them feel you are offering them an opportunity they wouldn't get elsewhere.

3. You have to present your buyers with an offer they could not resist. Box in your offer and make the presentation complete, leaving the buyer and his questions, answered and satisfied. Provide everything that your prospective buyer would need before deciding on you product.

The benefit of internet marketing goes beyond the imagination. You can buy and sell whatever you want, the fastest possible time and the easiest possible way. Use it to your advantage.

Top Mistakes Affiliate Marketers Make

by ddugo123
Although it is the perfect business for many people, making money with online affiliate marketing programs online can be almost impossible unless you avoid the hard learned mistakes others have already made. All the knowledge you gain as an affiliate marketer is an investment toward building your commission checks and success as an affiliate marketer.

Do not be afraid to spend time learning new tips and strategies to drive your business forward. Purchase and read E-books and read articles, newsletters and forums. Remember, no matter what you are selling, your main business is that of affiliate marketing and you will do best learning as much as you can about how to succeed with it.

The affiliate marketing industry changes almost daily and the marketers who stay on top of these new techniques know what works before others do, and profit bigger and faster because of it.

If you are not seeing the results you want, and do not know what else to try, the reason is probably a lack of knowledge. It is also important to read Internet marketing forums and ask questions. Find things that have worked for others and adapt those strategies to your own business. Do what works best for you and you will go far.

One of the biggest mistakes that a beginner affiliate makes is spreading themselves out to thin. They constantly jump from one so-called opportunity to another hoping it will make them rich fast.

They never get the ball rolling in any one direction and always come up short. To succeed in affiliate marketing, one must strive to make something work for them until at least a good amount of time and effort has been put in, to see if the affiliate program, or product, or other type of scheme is really worth the effort.

Now, it is important to diversify. When you diversify online, you move to work on another opportunity when what you are working on is already bringing you results. If you develop websites to sell skin care products, and you make consistent sales, then you might consider developing your efforts in another niche market, such as weight loss, for even bigger profits.

This is called building multiple income streams.

Instead however, many beginner affiliates try to promote all types of different products without focusing on one at a time. A beginner should choose a product in one niche market, learn that product inside out and sell it well, and move onto the next while taking the skills learned to make money even faster.

Once you can sell one type of product well, you will know what works the next time around. You will have residual income coming in from your first product promotions, and can start to build on that with sales from the new product.

Again, spend some time learning about what works in affiliate marketing. Whether you are a complete beginner trying to earn your first paycheck online, or are a seasoned marketer, there is always something to improve. As you hone your selling and copywriting skills, use them to make even more sales.

If at first you do not see results, try to keep working toward your goal with one affiliate program or product at a time. The first sale is the hardest one to make but it is worth it once you get there.

Affiliate marketing is not a get rich quick scheme but like any other legitimate business, it takes time and effort to see consistent results.

Also once your affiliate business is on the rise, pay even more attention to it! Avoid getting lazy thinking it will improve by itself because most of the time, it wont. Write more articles, and attract more traffic and links and your websites will stay on top.

Another mistake affiliates make that ties closely with this idea of building, is that they get lazy. A seasoned affiliate knows that once success starts to show with a promotion, you must double, or even triple your efforts!

Definitely stay proactive with your selling! You will make more money because success builds on success and you will now believe you can do even better! Use this motivation to build new websites and bring in even more traffic and sales, and you will see your affiliate income grow each week.

How To Mix Adsense Into Your Affiliate Marketing

by albertarticle
A lot of people are lured by affiliate marketing because it can be financially rewarding, even if you just stay at home. Affiliate marketing programs are best alternatives to those who are sick and tired of their arduous daily work just to climb up the venerated corporate ladder. You don't need products to sell, you just have to market them in your own web site and you don't have to worry about processing the customers' payments and the shipment of the products. If you are already into affiliate marketing, probably you were thinking about these benefits, too, before deciding to join an affiliate program.

Of course you want earn huge amount of commission. Who would not want it anyway? Keep in mind, however, that affiliate marketing cannot guarantee you instant success if you don't work on it. There are a lot of ways of maximizing your income. The Internet is a huge library of information, use it to learn of other opportunities and ways to increase your income. You can partner with several merchandisers and promote different products in your website; thereby, increasing your chance to earn a commission.

The easiest way for you to rev up your revenue potential is by incorporating Google AdSense into your marketing campaigns. What is Google AdSense? What are its advantages? How can it boost my revenues? These are some of the questions you might want to ask. Let 's try to probe into Google AdSense, so you would know how it could help you in your affiliate marketing program.

Merchants place their ads in Google, which is one of the most popular search engines or tools for locating various resources in the World Wide Web. Now the Google AdSense program allows you to display these ads in you website and when your visitors click through them, you earn. The advertiser, which is the merchant pays Google for every click-through made by the customer and you as a partner of Google, gets a share from that payment.

What 's great about the Google AdSense is that the ads are relevant to the content of your web page. Most likely, visitors of your web site are interested on the theme of your site and specifically, on the content of your web page. So, seeing ads related to their interest would definitely drive them to click through the link or the ad. Using state-of-the-art technology, Google scans your web site and matches the content of your pages to their large database of advertisers; this way, Google is able to find ads that are targeted by the users of your site. In addition, Google changes the ads in your site as you change the content of your pages, so you can always expect the ads to be relevant to your site.

Having Google ads in your website is also a way of convincing your users to return to your site. Repeat customers multiply your income without having to exert extra effort to convince them again to click through your links. And your potential to earn doesn't depend on them alone. Since you already have their confidence, they can be your endorsers as well. They could refer your site to family and friends who probably share the same interests with them.

Advertisers in the Google AdSense program range from large international brands to small-time domestic and local businesses, so the targeted market for the ads can range as well. This adds variety to your site; thereby, attracting different kinds of users. As you attract more users, you increase your earning potential as well. If you are targeting a specific nationality for your site users, don't worry because AdSense can be used in different languages.

In order to boost your revenues through Google AdSense, you must pay attention to making web pages of high value topics. Make contents related to high-paying ads, so you can earn more. Some ads pay only a few cents while some ads pay you dollars just for a single click. You would need to do a little research on this so you can come up with a more relevant content. Join affiliate marketing forums and get tips from experienced affiliate marketers.

Becoming an AdSense affiliate marketer is easy and fast. You just have to apply online and once your application is approved, you can instantly set up Google ads in your site. All you need to do is copy and paste some codes in your web pages and in no time the ads will appear in your site.

Strike while the iron is hot! Take advantage of the favorable circumstances the Internet is offering you. Make the most of your affiliate marketing opportunities, use Google AdSense!

Product Recommendations To Increase Your Bottom Line

by pinotedesco
In affiliate marketing, there are many ways in which you can increase your earnings and maintain the account that you have worked so hard for already. Most of the techniques and tactics can be learned easily. No need to go anywhere and any further.

They are available online, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. One of the more important ways of increasing affiliate marketing bottom line and sale is through the use of product recommendations. Many marketers know that this is one of the most effective ways in promoting a certain product.

If the customers or visitors trust you enough, then they will definitely trust your recommendations. Be very careful in using this approach, though. If you start promoting everything by recommendation, your credibility will actually wear thin. This is seen especially when recommendations are seemingly exaggerated and without much merit.

Do not be afraid to mention things that you do not like about a given product or service. Rather than lose any points for you, this will make your recommendation more realistic and will tend to increase your credibility.

Furthermore, if your visitors are really interested in what you are offering, they will be more than delighted to learn what is good about the product, what is not so good, and how the product will benefit them.

When you are recommending a certain product, there are some things to remember on how to make it work effectively and for your advantage. Sound like the true and leading expert in your field. Remember this simple equation: Price resistance diminishes in direct proportion to trust.

If your visitors feel and believe that you are an expert in your niche, they are more inclined to making that purchase. On the other hand, if you are not exuding any confidence and self-assurance in endorsing your products, they will probably feel that same way and will go in search of another product or service which is more believable.

How do you establish this aura of expertise? By offering unique and new solutions they would not get anywhere else. Show proof that what you are promoting works as promised. Display prominent testimonials and endorsements from respected and known personalities, in related fields of course.

Avoid hype at all costs. It is better to sound low key and confident, than to scream and seek attention. Besides, you would not want to sound unprofessional and have that thinking stick to your potential customers and clients, now would you? Best to appear cool and self-assured at the same time.

And remember; prospects are not stupid. They are actually turning to experts and may already know the things that you know. If you back up your claims with hard facts and data, they would gladly put down hundreds, or even thousands worth of money to your promotions. But if you don't, they are smart enough to try and look at your competitors and what they are offering.

While recommending a product, it is also important that you give out promotional freebies. People are already familiar with the concept of offering freebies to promoting your won products. But very few people do this to promote affiliate products.

Try to offer freebies that can promote or even have some information about your products or services.
Before you add recommendations to you product, it is given that you should try and test the product and support. Do not run the risk of promoting junk products and services. Just think how long it took you to build credibility and trust among your visitors.

All that will take to destroy it is one big mistake on your part.If possible, have recommendations of products that you have 100% confidence in. Test the product support before you begin to ensure that the people you are referring it to would not be left high and dry when a problem suddenly arouse.

Have a look at your affiliate market and look at the strategies you are using. You may not be focusing on the recommendations that your products need to have.

You plan of action is sometimes not the only thing that is making your program works. Try product recommendation and be among those few who have proven its worth.

Creating Value for Your Online Customers

by jonaw68
Customers are the lifeblood of any business (whether it 's online or offline). So it makes sense to look after your hard-earned customers and give them excellent value for the cash that they hand over to you. It 's not about you. It 's about the customer and their wants and needs. Giving value will increase the conversion rate of leads to sales, number of transactions and average $ sale. This results in greater profits for you for less work.

You should provide products and services that you can be absolutely proud of and that you would have no hesitation in selling to family or friends. This leads to happy customers. Happy customers will buy more from you, more often. Happy customers will recommend you to other people. On the other hand, unhappy customers won't buy from you any more and they will tell everyone of their bad experience with you... not so good for your business

A business transaction is a simple exchange... cash is exchanged for your product or service. The customer needs what you have (the product or service) MORE than the money that they give you. It stands to reason then that the product must be of EQUAL or GREATER VALUE than the dollars that are given to you. Greater value is always better because this adds the WOW factor to their purchase. The product should be loaded with benefits... not just "so-called" benefits in the sales copy but real benefits that the customer will really appreciate from you.

With every customer, you should endeavour to "go the extra mile" for them. A lot of people will be questioning whether it 's really worth going to "all of this trouble". But just consider that going the extra mile for your customers will turn most of them into profitable "lifetime customers". This is actually a lot "less trouble" than continually looking for new customers. So consider some really easy methods like "thanking" your customers, staying regularly in touch with them, giving them free tips and help (rather than just selling to them all time), and giving away free items of value (such as good e-books) for being such a great customer.

What if you get complaints from a customer? Even in this situation, you can turn this around and convert them into a loyal customer... if you handle it properly. If you get a difficult customer or someone with a complaint, stay calm, breathe (I'm not kidding), don't take it personally or attach emotion to the situation. Do your best to listen to what the customer has to say. If you treat them with respect and show that you are trying to help them, this should go a long way to resolving the problem... and keeping them as a customer. Obviously, some people are never happy no matter what you do, so you may have to just "move on" in this particular instance.

It 's always easier and cheaper to sell to existing customers than to find new ones... that 's common knowledge. Bottom line is: if you don't give your customers good value, they will simply return the product which isn't good for your profits or reputation.

How Can I Climb Higher on Google?

by acbuddy
Google is by far the most important search engine on the net. To rise to the top of their search engine, you need to improve your link popularity and you need to understand how they measure your link popularity (over 50% of all search engine traffic comes from Google, and if you can rise to the top, you will likely rise to the top of all the other search engines as well).

Link popularity is defined as the number of sites that are linking to your site. Some websites have thousands or even millions of sites linking to them, while others might have only a few. The search engines use the number of inbound links your site has as a measure of how important your site is, which translates into your search engine ranking.

The actual number of links to your site is not the only variable used to calculate your link popularity. The search engines also examine the relevance of the links to the subject matter of your site. For example, if a website that sells vitamins has 4,000 inbound links, but the source of most of the links are websites that have nothing to do with vitamins, then the algorithm that search engines use to determine link popularity will take that into account, and the link popularity score will not be very good.

It is possible for a website with a relatively small number of quality inbound links to be ranked higher than a site with a bunch of irrelevant or insignificant links. If I have a website that offers quotes for auto insurance, and I have 800 quality inbound links, then I might receive a much higher search engine ranking than another mortgage site that has 3,000 links that stem from link farms or Free For All (FFA) pages.

If you try to acquire inbound by using link farms or FFA pages, not only will it hurt your search engine ranking, but you might get permanently removed from the search engine listings. Links farms are sites where you can instantly exchange links with all the sites listed in that directory. FFA pages are pointless link directories. The search engines usually discount any links that come from either of these sources.

Now that we understand what link popularity is and how it works, we need to look specifically at how Google measures it. They use a number of variables in their algorithm to calculate your overall link score. The higher your score, the higher you will be ranked in the search listings.

One factor that Google uses in their algorithm, obviously, is the total number of sites linking to you. The more links you have, the higher your score will be. However, their algorithm is a little more complicated than that, and it is possible for a website with fewer links to be ranked higher than a website that has more links.

The reason for this is because Google also measures the quality of your links. If your website is about vitamins, and the site linking to you is a video game site, then that is not considered a quality link. The link still helps your score, but the link would help your score much more if it were from a website whose subject matter is the same as yours.

Also, Google gives a higher score to a link if it comes from a page that has actual content that relates to your keywords. For example, if your site is about jewelry, and another jewelry website has posted a link to your site on their links page, that link is not as valuable as a link to your site coming from a blog or a message board where a lot of information about jewelry is being written or discussed.

Also, they give an even higher score to a link if it contains anchor text that matches one of the keywords that describes your site. For example, if I have a site that sells lawnmowers, and a blog about lawnmowers has posted a link to my site, it helps my score even more if the link text (also known as anchor text) is LAWNMOWERS. To learn more about anchor text, go to a search engine and look up ANCHOR TEXT and you will be able to learn about it.

Another factor used by Google to score your link popularity is the diversity of keywords contained on sites linking to you. For example, if you have a site that sells handbags, and all the links to your site are from other sites that contain nothing but the keyword HANDBAGS, Google considers that to be abnormal. To get a higher score, you need to have links coming from sites that contain a variety of keywords related to handbags, such as BUY HANDBAGS, LEATHER HANDBAGS, etc.

It is difficult to increase your link popularity, but now that you understand how your score is calculated, you can devise a plan to improve your score. You might want to consider posting to forums and blogs that contain information that is related to your site, and when you post, include a link to your site.

Adsense Is Essential For Content Sites - 3 Reasons Why

by pinotedesco
To know why Adsense is essential for your content sites is to know first how this works.

The concept is really simple, if you think about it. The publisher or the webmaster inserts a java script into a certain website. Each time the page is accessed, the java script will pull advertisements from the Adsense program.

The ads that are targeted should therefore be related to the content that is contained on the web page serving the ad. If a visitor clicks on an advertisement, the webmaster serving the ad earns a portion of the money that the advertiser is paying the search engine for the click.

The search engine is the one handling all the tracking and payments, providing an easy way for webmasters to display content-sensitive and targeted ads without having the hassle to solicit advertisers, collect funds, monitor the clicks and statistics which could be a time-consuming task in itself.

It seems that there is never a shortage of advertisers in the program from which the search engine pulls the Adsense ads. Also webmasters are less concerned by the lack of information search engines are providing and are more focused in making cash from these search engines.

The first reason why Adsense is essential for content sites is because it already has come a long way in understanding the needs of publishers and webmasters. Together with its continuous progression is the appearance of more advanced system that allows full ad customization. Webmasters are given the chance to choose from many different types of text ad formats to better complement their website and fit their webpage layout.

The different formatting enables the site owners the possibility of more click through from visitors who may or may not be aware of what they are clicking on. It can also appeal to the people visiting thus make them take that next step of looking up what it is all about. This way the people behind the Adsense will get their content read and making profit in the process.

The second reason is the ability of the Adsense publishers to track not only how their sites are progressing but also the earnings based on the webmaster-defined channels.

The recent improvements in the search engines gives webmasters the capability to monitor how their ads are performing using customizable reports that has the capacity to detail page impressions, clicks and click-through rates. Webmasters and publishers can now track specific ad formats, colors and pages within a website. Trends are also easily spotted.

With the real-time reporting at hand, the effectiveness of the changes made will be assessed quickly. There would be time to sort out the contents that people are making the most clicks on. The ever-changing demands would be met while generating cash for the webmasters and publishers.

The more flexible tools are also allowing webmasters to group web pages by URL, domain, ad type or category, which will provide them some accurate insight on which pages, ads and domains are performing best.

The last and final reason is that the advertisers have realized the benefits associated having their ads served on targeted websites. Thus increasing the possibility that a prospective web surfer will have an interest in their product and services.

All because of the content and its constant maintenance. As opposed to those who are no using Adsense in their sites, they are given the option of having other people do their content for them, giving them the benefit of having successful and money-generating web sites.

Adsense is all about targeted content, the more targeted your content is, the more target the search engines ads will be. There are some web masters and publishers who are focused more on their site contents and how best to maintain them rather than the cash that the ads will generate for them. This is the part where the effectiveness is working its best.

There was a time when people were not yet aware of the money to be achieved from advertisements. The cash generated only came into existence when the webmasters and publishers realized how they can make Adsense be that generator. In those days, the content were the most important factors that is taken quite seriously. It still is. With the allure of money, of course.

Easy Ways To Build Affiliate Marketing Websites

by albertarticle
There are some myths in affiliate marketing, which attract a lot of people to it believing they are true. First is they think managing an online business is easy and second, they think that one can make a fortune through online marketing in an instant. Probably not even 10% of those who are into affiliate marketing became rich overnight.

There may be some who fortunately achieved overwhelming success in just a short span of time after setting up an affiliate program, but not a majority of them can confidently say they only had luck. Anyone who is successful in this kind of business would say he worked hard to get to where he is right now. Success in affiliate marketing takes time and hard work, but it 's worth it.

If you are planning to start an affiliate program, one of the things you have to consider is having your own website, not just an ordinary website but a professional looking one. How do you build an affiliate marketing website? What are the easy steps to build one? First, you must have already decided on the theme or niche of your website. It would be better if you already have an idea what products or services to promote as this would help you plan the design and lay-out of your web pages. The next thing to do is to choose a domain name and get it hosted. The domain name is a unique name used to label the actual address of your website on the Internet.

In deciding what domain name to register, look into the type of products you are endorsing and the theme of your site. Having the right keywords in your domain name would give you better chances of drawing more visitors to your website. Also, choose a top level domain or extension, such as .com because it is more popular. In selecting your web host, consider the security of servers and up time guarantees.

Now, you can start creating your webpages. Don't be disheartened when you know a little in this field. There are page generation tools and fast launch sites available online; you just have to search for them. Countless online sources could help you build an affiliate marketing website, though you might need time to study and learn the whole process.

This is one of the reasons why your site or the products you are going to promote must match your interest. Building your marketing website for the first time would be a lot more fun if you know very well the theme of your site. If you don't have time to make your own website, you can use templates or purchase readily available websites. The latter, however, is a more expensive option.

Creating an affiliate website on your own would be cheaper and more interesting. In the process of building your website, you may also increase your knowledge in Information Technology and the use of computers, softwares and the Internet. As you educate yourself in these fields, you are increasing your advantage against other affiliate marketers. It helps a lot, though, if you already know the basics in web page development like programming languages and graphics softwares because you can make your site extra corporate-looking, more convenient to use or easier to navigate. Furthermore, if you are knowledgeable and skillful in this area, you can already concentrate more on the content of the page rather than the design.

The key to draw visitors to your website is to have high quality content; thus, the next thing you must pay attention to in building your marketing website is this. There may be several other factors that contribute to the success of your affiliate marketing site, but a good content tops the list. This is precisely the reason why users choose to enter your site. They want to get information and so when they don't find it, they would definitely go elsewhere. Write interesting articles related to your theme as this would make them frequent your site. If you have already looked for affiliate programs that complement your site, add links to the business sites and other very good informative sites. Links contribute to how well you will be listed in major search engines as well.

Also, create pages for the products you are endorsing, but don't just promote the products by putting hyped-up ads. Keep your readers interested by injecting lots of relevant and useful information. This would make them click the link to the business site and buy the product. Remember that no good content means no frequent visitors, no sales and ultimately, no commission.

Make your site simple yet not without a touch of class in order to make it appear more of a business website rather than a personal website. This would be pleasing to the eyes and more interesting to browse. To help you with the design, you can check some successful online stores to get an idea on how you can make your site look better. Make sure you don't place too many banner ads since these could distract some site users; and thus, instead of clicking your ad, they might just leave your site and look for other interesting websites. After all, banner ads are not the only means of advertising your products. Now your website is complete, submit its URL to major search engines to increase your traffic.

Grow from where you started. Learn about use of keywords for search engine optimization and apply them in your content. Update your site regularly or add new webpages. Make sure to inform your prospects about the latest updates in your site. You can use newsletters to accomplish this. The Internet offers a huge source of information about just anything, make use of it. Continue to educate yourself on how to improve your website and soon you'll find yourself successful in affiliate marketing.

Geke 's Guide To Yahoo Search Marketing

by pianopl123
Overture or now known as Yahoo because of Yahoo 's takeover, was the original inventor of the use of the P4P or Pay for Performance. Overture saw that the internet was fast becoming the easiest and most convenient way to shop, and advertising was going to hit at an all time high because of the many businesses in the arena.

To get a person to go to a site than others, it needs to be very visible. Providing ads that could direct potential consumers and costumers to their site would allow them to have an increase in traffic as well as sales. Yahoo provides a service that can put a site or company 's ad in their sites that can be shown when certain keywords are inputted.

Yahoo offers a chance for any company to increase their traffic by using their services. With more people being aware of your site, there would be more traffic and visitors to your site given the chance to view your pages as well as your products. With even a small percentage of successful sales, with a high traffic volume this could still be a substantial figure for your company.

Getting a consistent substantial flow of website visitors is every company 's goal. Many methods are devised and utilized to ensure that there would be more people to boost the sales and to be aware of the existence of such a product or service. Website visitors are potentially the life blood of your internet based business.

Yahoo/Overture utilizes the same principle as Google 's Adwords. In fact, they are very similar to each other that they use keyword and keyword phrase searches and to determine which ads to show per search. When a person types in a keyword or keyword phrase to search for anything, the search engines gives out the results in a page. Then at the right side of the page, you will see selected ads that have paid for their ads to be viewed with certain keywords and keyword phrases searched.

For example, Lets say you run a car parts retail/wholesale site. You choose keywords that can prompt or trigger your ads to be shown in the page when a keyword is searched. When a search engine user types in Honda Accord, your ad may come up if you have designated that as one of your keywords. You don't need to fully optimize your site with Search Engine Optimization methods and techniques.

While some labor so hard to make their site one of the high ranking sites per keyword search, you get the chance to be on the top of the list or at least in the first page of a search result increasing your chance to be clicked on. With that, you drive traffic and website visitors to your site a lot faster.

You will have to pony up some cash when using this service though. There are different ways Yahoo/Overture will charge you. It may be in the number of Keywords or Keyword phrases your ad uses or in the many times your ad is clicked on. Others offer many other services like having your ad show up not only in the search engine pages but also with some third party sites.

Third party sites support ads that have the same theme or niche as them. With more areas your ad is shown, you increase the chances of people knowing about your site or product. With more website visitors you increase the sales of your site which makes your investment with your ads a wise one.

With so many competitions in the internet based businesses, it is necessary to take a huge leap forward from the pack by advertising. Yahoo/Overture will be a great place to start. Many have utilized their services and have reaped the rewards of this decision. It 's a marketing strategy that will increase your website visitors as well as increase your sales resulting to profit.

It takes money to make money, while there are some methods that are basically low cost or free, using a marketing service such as what Yahoo Search Marketing offers will provide results faster and on a larger scale. Many businesses have learned this the hard way, don't be counted with them.

Make sure you do your homework though, and above all, stay within your business' operating budget. That 's the number one rule above all. Stay within your budget.

Budget Online Promotion for Authors

by klively
A recent trip to Book Expo America revealed some interesting tidbits about expenses an author may incur when promoting a book. One author who had self-published a novel confided that he had spent ten thousand dollars for books and promotional items, with the hopes of getting his material to interested booksellers!

For top book publishers, ten thousand dollars may seem a mere drop in a bucket, but for the freshman novelist published through a smaller press or by alternative means (self-publishing or eBook production), there may not be that much in the budget to launch an attractive PR campaign. If you fall into this category, though, there is no reason to feel discouraged. There are actually a number of ways to advertise your book to your target audience without spending a lot of money.

Here are just a few examples of how an author can use the Internet to spread the word without breaking the bank:

Website: It goes without saying that any author with a book to sell should have his own website. Just the simple act of setting up one page with a picture of the book, a synopsis and excerpt, and purchase information can work wonders for increasing awareness. The best part is that an author need not spend thousands of dollars to set up a site.

Find a budget host that offers webspace and URL registration in one package. Having a URL of your name is very important, as it helps to certify your name as a brand associated with your fiction. Many budget hosts offer simple access to build a website, so if you are not HTML savvy you can still construct something that is attractive and effective. Relevant content and META data helps direct search engine attention to your site, and as you write more you can add more pages for promotion.

E-mail Newsletter: Even before your book is released, you can drum up publicity with an e-mail newsletter. Once a month, design content about your book and related areas of interest, include anecdotes and recipes to share, and offer a drawing or contest for prizes. Starting with friends and family, you can build a steady readership and solicit more subscribers through websites and forums dedicated to your genre of fiction or non-fiction.

Newsletters as an opt-in marketing device are non-intrusive and offer the reader great incentives. They also imprint your brand in the memories of readers, so if your book isn't bought right away it will definitely be remembered for eventual purchase and recommendation.

Mailing List: In addition to a newsletter, you may want to consider hosting a mailing list or message board relevant to your books and the themes they cover. Say for example you have written a non-fiction book about cancer survivors. Why not host a forum about surviving cancer? As you attract new members, you have a built-in, constant promotional tool for your book. If you are a romance novelist, a mailing list or message board is a good way to glean from readers what they like to read in romances. In addition to a captive audience, you may find inspiration for future works.

Mailing lists are simple to set up through third-party sites like Topica and Yahoo. Message board software is also easy to obtain. Or, if you do not want the added responsibility of coding, you can set up a forum through a third-party host. A daily or weekly check of message keeps your profile active.

Chats: Regular chats through third-party book websites may be handy in keeping your name imprinted in the minds of readers. An online chat brings you closer to readers and gives you the opportunity to attach a "voice" to your website and work. Entice readers with a prize giveaway at chats. You may find your generosity goes a long way toward sales.

Website advertising: Unlike print advertising, banner advertising has the option of being animated. Plus, it is reasonably cheaper than placing an ad in a magazine. Look around websites relevant to your book 's topic and consider purchasing a banner or button graphic linking to your book. With many sites, you may only need to pay per click-through to your site, which in the end is quite cost-effective.

Articles: Don't just be an author, be an expert! Why let your writing expertise end with the book, when you can supplement your knowledge in articles to third-party websites? Online Advertising Tips For The Internet Business Owner

by markovsky1
Do you have a small online business? Are you thinking about starting this type of business? If you have answered yes to either of these questions then read on to discover how to effectively market your products or services online. Currently, online advertising for small internet businesses is the most popular trend entrepreneurs are using to garner more customers and produce more sales.

One of the best things about advertising online is it requires only a relatively small expenditure to get started. Compared to offline advertising, you will find that online advertising will provide greater coverage at a lower price.

As you know by now, the internet is used and visited by millions of folks every day from all parts of the globe. It follows then, that if you choose to advertise online, you can be confident that literally thousands can see your ads and potentially become your customers.

One approach is to try advertising by yourself to minimize your expenses. As you might know, it is free to post written articles on most article publishing sites. By writing appealing articles and then posting them on these sites, you essentially will be advertising your services or products for free. This is accomplished by having your website link shown in the author Bio box. From personal experience I must tell you that writing articles is not quite as easy as you might think. You first must catch the reader 's attention to get them to read your article and then make it appealing for them to click on your site link.

If you have decided on the marketing of affiliate programs as your business model, producing links and banners directing prospects to your websites is a solid approach. You must provide the appropriate images and text links to your affiliates. The downside here is that you will be paying a commission to your affiliate partner for all products sold via their referrals. The positive is, if you are able to find some ambitious affiliates, these can be a profitable partnerships since they will be doing the advertising for you. Your expense then is simply a reasonable amount of commission for every sale produced through their referral efforts.

Blogs are receiving a lot of attention as marketing vehicles. You may wish to create your own blogs. Another approach to to post on blogs that have themes similar to services or products you are marketing. For example, if you have decided to sell exercise machines, you could post to a blog that is related to fitness and health. A similar approach will also work by finding forums that are related to whatever you may be selling. You must be aware that for either the blog or forum approach you cannot blatantly sell your product or service in your post. You must provide some useful content to the readers and then you may provide a link to your website in your signature information.

Utilizing a newsletter which is emailed to your potential customers is an excellent marketing tool. Once your prospects have subscribed to your newsletter, you can send them product updates and announcements from your web site through the newsletter emails. The newsletter tool only works if you distribute it as promised, weekly, monthly, daily or whatever. Utilize some useful and educational content in your email newsletters so your potential customers have something interesting to read about. Build their trust in you so that you become the expert in your field. This will give them a reason to buy your services or products.

There are also online advertising companies which can be used if desired. If you do hire someone make sure to go for a reputable advertising company that you have thoroughly checked out. I would definitely do a number of reference checks with their existing clients and try to find out how effective their campaigns were before going forward with this choice. This approach is usually the most costly but can be effective if the right company with proven performance is selected.

The above tips are just some of the approaches for internet business advertising. Your goal should be for people to find your website and finally to become customers. Advertising online should be a key element of your marketing strategy. Use these tips and you will hopefully find customers will flock to your website to buy your services or products.
