What are Pay Per Sale Affiliate Programs?

By Jonathon White

A Pay per Sale is an affiliate program that allows you to get revenue from your website by showing a banner ad from various merchants. When a visitor comes to your site they can see your affiliate program because you want to place your ads in very good location so other users can see them as well. When the user clicks on the ad and purchases the item that is being offered to them you get paid for every sale you make. How much you make all depends on what the terms of agreement are with your affiliate network.

There are so many different categories to choose from in the Pay per Sale affiliate programs. There are Art, Books, CD/Music, Flowers, Gift Ideas, Magazines, Cars, Sports, Travel, Toys, Two Tier Income, Web Marketing and Web Tools just to name a few. Some of these programs all depend on which network you choose by they can offer as little as 5 percent to 25 percent they are all different. Be careful because some of these programs may have a special condition.

For example, there are few programs that offer you a commission of $10 no matter how much the user spends from $10 to $500, the commission is the same but the condition to this program is that the customer must be a first time user. If the user is a repeat customer then you don’t receive the commission. Make sure you read the terms very carefully.

Some of the best-rated programs are ShareASale, Commission Junction, Hosting.com, Amazon, etc. Do your research before you join any of these just to make sure they are the right for your site. These programs are free to join but there may be some requirements in terms of how many visitors your site gets at the time of you signing up for them. Some networks may want at least 1000 visitors to the site before they give you an account. This is to ensure that you make money as well as they do. No traffic means no sales.

Make sure because you are using the Pay per Sale option that you market the products well. Place them in a very high visible spot on the first page of your site. Even if a user may not stay to look at more pages if they see the ad and they like what they see they will buy.

Jonathon White works for an affiliate programs directory. It lists a huge amount of pay per sale and other affiliate programs. Also includes affiliate tracking software

The Professional's Guide to Selling Online

By: Mario Carini

Salesmanship! Do you shudder on hearing that word? If you've never sold Fuller brushes or anything tangible before, the fact is you are selling even if you don't think you are. And if you have a website, you are selling something online.

Today, Internet marketing has opened the possibility of doing business anywhere in the world. However, face-to-face meetings are a rarity, especially if your prospect lives on the other end of the globe. Your site is your personal salesman. It does the job fo the face-to-face meeting.

Online or off, the rules of selling are exactly the same. Let's make a comparison between what happens between a buyer and seller in someone's home and that between your site and the prospect that comes to visit:

Your Conduct: Just as the professional salesman walks in with a suit and tie, smiles and greets the potential buyer, your site should also look professional. Spelling errors and grammar mistakes give you away as unprofessional. Your site doesn't need to be cluttered with run-on text and flooded with banners. Open space and easy-to-read text are extremely important.

The Introduction: Who exactly are you? The prospect wants to know something about your credentials. While that doesn't have to appear on your home page necessarily, you should have a link to an "About me" page. Since you can't talk to your prospect directly, you should have some way for him to reach you if your site doesn't present some answers to his pressing questions. You should include your email address, phone number, fax, cell phone or a message service through MSN, Yahoo, Skype and others. Your "About Me" page acts as your business card.

The Opening: Here's where the salesman sits down to begin discussions with his prospect. Your site's opening is your title. Your title should be just as effective as the advertising you do to get customers to surf to your site. Emphasize the problem and tell the viewer you have a solution. Online viewers are finicky readers. Make him want to read and offer a solution to his problem. Professional salesment know their customers. They know their needs and are prepared to address those needs when the meeting comes up. There's little idle chatter to determine the customer's want.

The Presentation: This is your home page. You should start off by outlining the problem from the perspective of the client. If your site focuses on unrelated issues or doesn't address the real problem until page 10, your prospect isn't going to wait until he gets there. Get to the point. Emphasize the problem, then make the claim you have a solution for him.

Involve the Reader: Ever read a good book? The book draws you in because you can identify with the characters and the plot. It creates an atmosphere that makes it difficult to put that book down. A good book draws you into the action. Whether it's a James Bond novel or Harry Potter, your site must draw the reader? Your website doesn't have to read like a Stephen King thriller but it should have something that entices the reader to stay and give him a potential solution to his problems.

Ask the reader questions: It's yet another way to involve the reader. Your text should flow from one idea to the next, leading to the solution. You should anticipate the prospect's objections and answer them as your page draws him in. The salesman not only prepares himself for that sales meeting, he's also a psychologist and knows that if he involves his prospect, it'll be much easier to make a sale. Make sure your site provides some answers. Let your site ask questions that makes the reader respond in a positive manner. In the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, one of the rules of winning people to your way of thinking is by getting the other person to say "yes…yes". Your site should do just that.

Bring up the facts: One of the most important parts of a website that sells is testimonials. You need to present the facts so you can dissolve doubts in the prospect's mind. Bring up the reasons why your product is better than the competition. Outline the benefits of using your product. Here's where you can have a few useful graphics on your home page. Professional salespeople use graphics that appeal to the buyer's senses. While the prospect can't touch your product, a good picture and a detailed description will help the prospect visualize what the product does. Information is what usually sells online. Present the reader with a chapter or outline the high points of whatever you are selling.

The Closing: Once your site answers all the prospect's questions, it's time to wrap things up. Your site isn't complete unless you sweeten the pot a little. Since your prospect isn't likely to come back to your site, you need to offer something special to make him want to buy NOW. Encyclopaedia salesmen would often add other volumes as free offers to entice the prospect to buy. Time limits for buying; discount offers, free ebook downloads and guarantees will help your prospect make a decision to buy.

After The Signature: Just as after-sales service is important in the real world, your sale page should offer up a money-back guarantee and, of course, contact information in case the buyer needs to reach you.

Salesmanship online or off follow the same rules. While you can't be present, your site's professional appearance and construction can make an excellent salesman that will earn you hundreds of sales and an income equal to what the best offline salesmen in the world earn.

Website Marketing Tips

By Donna Snyder

Marketing your online business takes skill, determination, creativity and strategy. There are many ways to market your website (for free or little cost) without the enormous cost of hiring marketing firms. I will list several solutions below that are geared to helping your business achieve its marketing goals and at the same time, save you hundreds of dollars in marketing cost.

Search Engines - Submit! Submit! Submit! Submit your site to major search engines! Most have "Free Submissions"! Yahoo, Google, Web Crawler, Excite, All The Web, AltaVista, Ask Jeeves

Invest in a Submission Program - By investing in your own submission program (software), it will literally save you thousands of dollars, in advertisements for your site and search engine submission fees to marketing company's. Most Marketing company's will charge a fee of around 50.00 a month or more to submit your site to about 200 or less, search engine (using the same software that can be purchased at most computer stores).

To get high ranking in the "Top" search engines, they charge literally thousands of dollars! Just imagine, for a very small investment (of around $69.00), you have the control over which engines you would like to submit to, where you will rank and have the ability to submit your site to more then 750,000 engines world wide in less then ten minutes of your time!

Banner Exchanges - Banner exchanges are an excellent way of promoting your site and driving traffic to your website. You may pick and choose who you would like to exchange banners with, or join a banner exchange program. There are literally thousands of banner exchange programs on the net. You can find them by typing in "banner exchange" in your browser window. Banner exchange programs are great for increasing traffic to your site as well as earning pay per clicks.

Pay Per Clicks - Pay-Per-Click marketing is a form of advertising that allows you to purchase top placement on the search engines for specific keyword searches, at a “per click” price. They work similar to banner ad exchanges. With the difference of earning revenue. Should you decide to join a "pay per click", make sure you completely check out their program and make sure they are legitimate. There are thousands upon thousands of "pay per clicks" sites on the web. You can find them in any search engine, by typing in keywords, "pay per clicks" or "Affiliate Programs."

Yellow Pages - List your website in the Internet "Yellow and White Pages" Some yellow pages have, "free listing signups". Go to keyword "yellow pages" or type "yellow pages" into your browser and choose your yellow pages accordingly.

Apply For Web Awards - Applying for web awards can definitely bring traffic to your site. However, don't just apply for any awards, Example: Market-Me sites, which will give awards to anyone by a "right click and save graphic" linking back to them, without reading any criteria or promoting any ethics. This adds no credibility for your website. The best award programs can usually be found on Award Sites, UWSAG, or Web Awards , which go through a "strict" evaluation process to add credibility to their Award Programs/Sites.

Join A Web Ring - Joining a Web Ring is a pretty easy process. Just contact the RingMaster and ask to have your site included in the ring. Once you've been accepted, the RingMaster will send you a line of HTML code that links you to the Web Ring. Place that code on your Web page - usually at the bottom - and you're a member. The key is finding one that works for you! The two largest Web Ring hosts that we know about, contain thousands of Rings: Yahoo Web Rings, RingSurf

Affiliate Programs - Joining affiliate programs, are not only beneficial to your site by brining traffic to your site, but can also make you a little bit of a income, depending on which affiliate programs you join. Be choosey and join ones that you feel will benefit yourself and your site. There are thousands of affiliate programs on the net you can join by promoting their products and services.

Using Meta Tags - Inserting "Meta Tags" in the head of your HTML will allow search engines to to recognize and pick up on your submission, by using "Key Words" in the Head of your HTML Code. Most likely, if your site does not have "keywords" in the head of your html code, the engines will not pick it up. Submit Your Site, "Free Meta Tag Generator" is a tool to help you create a meta tag for your html. It is important to remember that All meta tags will be geared towards the content of your site.

Content - Search engines will often pick up keywords in the content of your website. When writing your content, be sure to use specific topics and phrases that you think people will look for to find your site in the search engines. Include descriptions of your products and services in detail.

Testing And Tracking Your Website Traffic

By Stephan Smith

Before you even begin to start driving huge amounts of traffic to your website, I highly recommend that you test and track all your traffic sources. You may have heard it before and blown it off, but it is vital that you set up your testing and tracking software or service as soon as possible because it is very important for a long term and profitable Internet marketing campaign. How important is testing and tracking?

Consider this, you have a brand-new website that you just created. You decide that you want to sell baby clothes. So you spend lots of time and money to get your website completely stocked and ready for business. Now that you’re open, its time to market your business. You decide to paid for your traffic and you want try multiple advertising channels at the same time. Your advertising budget is approximately two thousand dollars for the month. You spend five hundred dollars for advertising A, seven hundred and fifty dollars for advertising B, and seven hundred and fifty dollars for advertising C.

After a month, you received nine thousands visitors and you processed seventy sales. Without testing and tracking your traffic, you have no idea which advertising channel generated the most sales. Its possible that all your sales came from one channel. Without testing and tracking your traffic, you are marketing blind. So what exactly should you test and track? I recommend that you track each and every individual traffic source. You should also track the amount of sales, or any desired action, that each traffic source produces. By doing that, you will be able to see which advertising sources are working and which aren’t.

Once you’re able to identify which advertising channels don’t work, you can stop advertising on that channel or test other creatives (Ads). For the advertising channels that do work, you could increase the amount you spend for that particular channel and work on conversions. That’s what the big boys do and that’s what you should do.

There is one more thing about testing that I feel I need to discuss. Whenever you find an advertising channel that isn’t performing well, make sure you test different creatives before you stop advertising on that channel all together. You’ll be surprised what you can accomplish by tweaking an ad. If you’ve tweaked an ad many times and haven’t seen improvement, it may be wise to stop using that advertising channel. Just make sure that you have given it a fair shot.

Don’t forget to test the creative of your successful advertising channels as well. You may think that there is no need to test an already successful advertisement, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. If you were able to experience success on your first ads, there is a good chance that there is even greater success waiting around the corner. However you will never know unless you test your advertisements.

Tracking is also very important. I am aware that most websites have some sort of statistical data on their control panel, such as the number of visitors you have received and the referring url's data, but that may not be enough information. Remember, not only do you have to know where your visitors are coming from, but you also need to know who is buying, subscribing, or whatever action that you want your visitors to take. Having that kind of information is vital to successfully testing and tracking your website traffic.

Lost in the Black Hole

By Alex Cleanthous

The Internet black hole. It’s a place that, as a website owner or developer, you don’t want your website be in. With 489,876,431 entries existing per key phrase and only 1,000 entries being listed per search, it is easy for your website to get lost in the void.

But, there is a way to avoid getting trapped in the black hole. There is a way for your website to be listed in the 1,000 entries. Without this technique, there is no way for search engine users to find your website unless you give them your URL directly. And, that’s not very efficient.

The answer to evading the black hole is keyword themes.

Keyword themes, which use specific search engine optimization formulas in early on web development, tie one original keyword phrase as a theme for all images, tags, titles and links, headings, and sub webs. Using keyword themes can effectively ensure a high placement in the search engines. Your website will most definitely be listed in the first 1,000 entries, and in just a matter of 30 – 45 days, your website will be listed in the top 25. Additionally, using keyword themes is a good way to cut advertising and marketing expenses.

Keeping in mind the goals for web development is a surefire way to maximizing the efficiency of keyword themes. The goals for web development are pretty evident: inform, entertain, and covert visitors; attract spiders from as many engines as possible; and rank high in search results for a particular keyword.

There are some basic keyword theme principles to follow when developing a website. The first thing you must do is create a sentence of less than 12 words that conveys the website’s most important messages. This is used for the title. Although 12 words might seem long for a title, this length allows for many possibilities and combinations of the keywords without making an overuse violation, known as spamming, in the search engines.

The keyword phrase is first seen in the title. Then, a description follows. Using the same keyword phrase in the same order as the title, write the description. This can be as long as you want. Next, you will need to create tags. Keywords in tags need to be in the same order as the title and description. Tags, too, can be as long as you want. These techniques ensure that there is a unified and cohesive appearance for both spider and visitor.

Now that you have your title loaded with keywords, you can use these keywords or phrases throughout your website. This is your keyword theme. The rule to using these keywords and phrases when using the keyword theme technique is to always use the keywords or groups of keywords in the same order as you did in the title.

Using keyword themes in Meta tags works the same way as it does on the webpage. Keywords and phrases are always placed in the same order as the title and the theme is always listed first.

Links and headings should be created in the same manner. By using the keyword theme in the title, description, tags, Meta tags, links, and headings, you have created a logically optimized website. And, since the keyword theme is in place, the keywords only need to be used a few times in the text. This allows for very rich content.

Limit your use of keyword phrases to five instances for all images, titles, including link titles, alt tags, and headings (limit of 2 for each phrase). There is no limit on use of keywords for links.

The keyword theme technique is an excellent way of ranking high in the search engines. By following all of the guidelines, you can be ensured that your website will not fall into the Internet black hole.

Increase Your Value and Explode Sales Through Niche Internet Marketing

By Ruth Kuttler

Lose Sales When You Market to "Everybody" When I ask my clients who they are marketing to, I often hear "everybody." Even though you can provide products and services to a general population, it is not a good idea to direct your marketing to everyone. The more you can define your target market and target market to niche groups, the more likely you are to be successful. Marketing to one or more niche groups is not just for Internet marketing but for all of your marketing.

When you focus on one or more select populations through niche marketing, it makes you more valuable to these groups. They will pay more because they perceive you to be the expert that knows exactly how to solve their problems. Even though you do the same thing for them as you do for everyone else, your marketing is directed to them and their particular needs.

Let say for example that you are a financial planner and you're targeting people in the Baby Boomer generation - ages mid 30s to 60s. You could make your market more niche by targeting female executive Baby Boomers. Even though your service stays the same, all of your marketing would be specific to female executives. This makes you more valuable and will help you to drive more business to you - people who will pay higher fees and generally be better quality clients.

How to Reach Your Niche Target Market Once you determine the niche market or markets that you wish to attract, find out what associations they belong to and what publications they receive. Find out what online newsgroups subscribe to and e-zines that attract this market. Consider joining their associations and advertising in publications they receive, both online and through the mail. Offer free tele-classes and submit articles to their publications.

Become an Expert to your Niche Target Market and Explode Your Sales Advertising can work but what really drives business to you is free publicity. I'm talking about the publicity you receive when you become known as an expert in the eyes of your niche market. This is not nearly as difficult as you think it is. It does however, require a commitment to do some things that you don't ordinarily do - things that most of your competition does not do. This is what gives you a dramatic marketing edge!

When you submit articles to your target market's online and offline publications and solve their problems, you become regarded as an expert. It's that simple. Your articles cannot be a sales pitch. You should not even mention your company and what you do. Your articles should specifically address the problems that this market has and how to solve those problems. It doesn't matter that their problems are the same problems that everyone else has. Focus your article on them as if it is their unique problem. Your resource box at the end of the article is where you promote yourself along with your contact information - this is your golden opportunity to include the name of your e-zine, how to subscribe and a special incentive for joining your list. It is critical that you have an effective website to send them to. Make sure that when they go to your website, the form to join your list is on every page -close to the top right is best.

By getting your articles in front of your target market, you have an incredible advantage. You have just given this audience something they desperately need and convinced them that you know how to solve their problem. You just established rapport and trust with them. They don't have to wonder anymore, who they should choose. Now you need to take it one step further.

Another great strategy for becoming known as an expert is to advertise free tele-classes to your niche market. You can get 100 people on a bridge line for free that allows you to make a powerful connection, establishing your credibility and interest in helping them solve their problems. Use this opportunity to educate and get them to join your list. Mention how you can help them at the end of the call. The best call to action is to ask them to go to your website right now and join your list. Getting in front of this captive market again and again is worth much more than making a single sale.

Publishing Your Own E-zine Makes you an Expert and Makes you Money You are an expert in your business. When you publish your own e-zine, people in your niche target market get to know what you know and they value your expertise and willingness to help them. Don't worry about your competition finding out your secrets. If you are the first to do this (and there is always a way to be the first or set yourself apart), this makes you the leader - and the leader is always regarded as the best. Your e-zine can be the stepping stone to all kinds of opportunities for free exposure - opportunities that are free and much more effective than any ad can ever be. I'm talking about television and radio interviews, articles in newspapers and in magazines that attract your market. Think of the cost savings when you can slash your advertising budget. This is the kind of Internet marketing and direct marketing that will exponentially grow your income!

You Don't Need to Be a Writer to Publish Your Own E-zine Don't worry that you are not an expert in copy writing. And don't let your ego interfere with the success of your articles and e-zine. What I have found is that many people who think they are great writers, are not effective at writing copy that gets read and gets results. Articles must have effective headlines, sub-headlines and a combination of stories and facts. They should interrupt, engage, educate and end with a call to action, just as a sales letter does. They should also be free of spelling and grammatical errors. Your articles and e-zine can be responsible for $10,000 - $250,000 or more in monthly revenue. Would it be worth it to pay a professional to maximize the results you get? Think of it as an investment in marketing your business. And with the money you save in advertising costs, you can easily pay someone to write your copy and even publish your e-zine and submit your articles.

I know that you have always done what your competition does, even if it doesn't work that well. What I'm suggesting that you do is to change the way you think and to change what you do. It's all about thinking outside the box. If you want to increase your market share, the smart way to do that is to set yourself apart by becoming known as an expert to a niche target market. Reaching your niche market through ezine publishing is by far the most effective Internet marketing strategy to implement. Not only that, it will drastically cut your advertising costs while escalating your sales. Niche target marketing will change your business and change your life.

By Joseph Rose

If you are an entrepreneur just getting into internet marketing, it is vital that you avoid the myth of making money overnight. Certainly it is possible to make money online while you are sleeping, but this is not going to happen right away. There is a great deal of time and energy that must be put into the business before you will begin to see results.

Everywhere you go you will see statements claiming you can instantly become rich or that it is easy to make money online. These are the kinds of statements that result in hundreds of thousands of people quitting so quickly. Too many people believe these statements and end up quitting after a couple of weeks with no results.

Just like every business in the world, you have to start from the bottom and work your way up. How do you expect to make money online overnight if nobody knows about you? In order to get your name out there, you have to do a great deal of advertising and promoting. But if you don't have a website developed or anything to promote, than what is the point of advertising?

If you already have experience with the internet and building websites, than you can certainly begin making money online rather quickly. But it still takes time to become noticed on the search engines and by the millions of people that search the internet every day. Every day there are hundreds of websites that are being started and even more that are further developing their websites. So what makes your website so special?

When you begin searching for something on Google or Yahoo, what do you click on when the search results come up? Most probably you will click on one of the top four or five results. At most you will scroll to the end of page one. What people don't realize is that it takes either a lot of money to get to page one on the search engines or a great deal of time and keyword optimization on your site to get to that point.

In order to get to where you want to be, you have to research the market and find out what they are looking for. Once you have taken the time to research and talk in forums with the people, you have to process this information. Take in everything that you have heard and develop ideas. Finally, you have to take this information and build pages of content and market your business to the people looking for it.

This doesn't necessarily sound like a walk in the park overnight deal, does it? As you can see, in order to make money online you have to give it time. If you do decide to give it time, the sky is the limit for the kind of success you can have with internet marketing.

Ten Reasons You Might Fail With Internet Marketing

By Steven Weber

More Reasons You Might Fail With Internet Marketing

How many of these are working against your online success?

“I’m a failure”. Many people simply can’t handle failure. Successful Internet marketers call the failure process “testing”. Failing is part of the game…get used to it and learn from those failures.
Too many of you get stuck on trying one thing. The chances of that one thing working are pretty small…I don’t care what it is…the odds are against that idea of working. I don’t mean to have ten things going at once, but you need more than just one. This is especially true in the early stages when you are still finding what you are best at.
You aren’t able to devote the time needed to succeed (and it takes a LOT of time) because you haven’t succeeded at getting your spouse to “buy in” to the idea. You NEED your spouse on your side while you are trying to build your business…trust me on this one.
Are you unorganized? Do you waste precious time finding lost passwords or trying to remember where you saved something? Take stock of your organizational skills and fix the problems if there are some.
Many of you think you can simply “Buy” your way to success. It can’t be done. There isn’t a product out there which will make you successful…not one. After you are successful, there are some products which can add to your success. But none of them will get you success…only you can do that for yourself.
Are you handicapping yourself because you think you can’t learn how to build simple and effective web pages? Or you think you don’t have enough time to learn such basic skills. If either of these is really true, than Internet marketing success in general will be a very long road for you.
Many of you tell me a friend or relative says getting ranked well in Google costs a lot of money…or some other nonsense like that. You believe them because of who they are…not because of what they know about Internet marketing. Be careful of such well-wishers’ advice.
Do you think building a list is something you’ll start doing after you are successful? Stop whatever else you are doing right now! Put a list building strategy in place today! Even if you don’t see a way to use a list yet, you will.
For some reason, I hear many of you say you don’t want to sell anything of your own. You only want to promote affiliate products, etc. That’s OK, but you may be putting blinders on to fantastic opportunities around you. Are you really telling me that you wouldn’t sell anything of your own even if it meant spectacular success? I don’t think so. Keep your mind open to all possibilities!
The TOP reason for failure is spending WAY too much time early on trying to make a few bucks here and there. This wastes time which could be spent learning the basic skills and concepts of Internet marketing for future success. Look at the big picture. Don’t get sidetracked on such short sightedness. You want to be very successful a year from now…you won’t reach that success by putting so much effort into make-a-profit-today schemes.

Be honest with yourself as you read these again. Recognize where you might improve. Remember, Focused Relentless Action will guarantee your success!

Basic General Internet Marketing

By Bruce Valentine

Internet marketing, just like any other business requires basic planning, funding, customer relations, products, strategies, and advertising. You will also require some strong customer marketing approaches, as well as hiring staff members or establishing a merchant account for online credit card processing.

If you are about to start an internet marketing business, think carefully about the products to sell, because there are certain products that are not compatible with marketing over the internet, and they may need to be through a person-to-person transaction. These products can cost a lot if shipped, as internet marketing business transactions depend exclusively on buying and shipping products. Online store

The first thing you will need is an online store. Like in any other business, this is where you will put all your products to be sold, and customers will visit your online store to look around and see if they can find anything they may like. You can outsource or hire someone to build an online store for you. Payments will be made by credit cards which are processed online, and to process the, you will first need to create a merchant account with a bank. Your store should have a secure server, as every credit card paying customer wants to be sure that the credit card number that they enter while paying is heavily secured from possible theft. In addition to this, the customers also want to be sure that any information that they disclose such as email address or other personal info will be confined only to that transaction. Website

Your website will serve as the main window of your products, services and other things that entail your internet marketing business. Your website should be SEO friendly, as the customers mainly browse the web in search for some products or services, and keywords or keyword variations pertaining to your kind of business should be highly emphasized. A good usage of the keywords and an SEO friendly website in a web directory will produce a large amount of traffic to your site which could lead to a more profitable business. A good website design and a strategic SEO management that is regularly maintained will require a lot of attention, and the internet offers free information and help regarding these matters, including promotion, design, and even maximizing your Search Engine Optimization capabilities. By Joel Christopher

Your budget is very important since it will set the bounds of your marketing strategy. You cannot expect to fuel your marketing business if you do not have at least some form of budget in tow.

2. Percentage of Your Revenues for Your Marketing

Experts recommend five percent of your gross income to be devoted to marketing. But it is really your call. What percentage of your revenues are you willing to shell out? It may be more or less, depending on your need, your time frame and your capacity to earn a considerable amount of money.

Having allotment for your revenue percentage for marketing gives your marketing strategy a field of its own in your business financial records and ushers for more organized accounting.

3. Thrust of Your Marketing Budget Plan

If you are to have a specific budget for marketing, how are you to use it? A good breakdown of your marketing budget to different marketing weapons and promotions will help you be able to know which aspects you will capitalize on in the light of your available budget.

The thrust of your marketing budget plan does not only tell what percent of your revenue will be used for your marketing, but in what exact ways will the money be used.

4. Time frame for your given Budget

You cannot just keep on shelling out money. Like many other things that you invest in, you must have a time frame or deadline. If you are to shell out this amount of cash, for how long will it take? 3 Make Money AdSense Tips

By Lanard Perry

Think you can't make money with Google Make Money AdSense Campaigns? Then think again, as more and more people like you and me are doing it.

Google adsense adwords allows website owners to create additional steams of income by placing ad codes on their websites, and when site visitors click on the ads the website owners get paid a commission for the "clicks".

There is no set amount for the fees paid. Instead, it can range from a few cents per click to upwards of $5.00 or more. I've not experienced the "high end" yet, but I'm working on it. I'm getting better and better at identifying high paying Keywords. And the more the keywords pay the greater my commissions are.

What you'll find that is paramount to your success is your ability to generate lots of high traffic, low competition keywords. While you might think of it as something hard to do, there's a tool that makes the task elementary, but more about that in a few more seconds.

Here are 3 Make Money AdSense Tips

1. Get Started.
If you're at all interested in Make Money AdSense Campaigns you should go to Google and sign up for an account. It won't cost you a dime. Plus, there are lots of free tutorials to fully explain what Google adsense adwords are and how it works.

Additionally, you'll also learn how to optimize your website pages for greater adsense earnings and higher "click throug" rates. The site is full of useful information designed specifically to help you maximize your earnings. There's absolutely no reason to not take advantage of all the money making tools and resources the site makes available to you.

2. Niche Marketing
Perhaps the best way to increase earnings from Make Money AdSense Campaigns is through Niche Marketing, a form of marketing that identifies and targets smaller, specialized audiences.

Niche markets are exemplified by the fact that niche markets cater to smaller subsections of larger audiences.

For example, instead of marketing the term "flowers", you'd target "roses". While this will result in a keyword term that generates fewer searches, there is often times a lot less competition for it. Consequently, you could end up making a lot more money on a keyword that generates fewer searches.

In the past, uncovering niche markets was near impossible, and when the technology became available it was terribly expensive. However, now it is both affordable and very easy to do.

3. Keyword Selection.
So, how do you go about uncovering hidden, keyword rich niches. Well, its pretty easy to do these days with any one of several keyword research tools, some of which are free.

However, I've settled on a Micro Niche Finder that is absolutely out of this world. With it I have discovered keywords that are searched upwards of 60,000 times per month with hardly any competition whatsoever. Plus, I've been able to buy up the domain names of those related keywords.

This particular Niche Finder has a function that tells you the strength of competition for the keywords and when I find words that are attractive, but that I have little chance of cracking into the Top 3 with I avoid them and move onto something with easier pickings.

Summarily, if you're not hosting Google Ads on your websites you're missing out on a great opportunity to generate passive income. If you already have websites up and running it won't tale but a few minutes to Monetize it with another stream of income and you should go for it.

Google Make Money AdSense Campaigns are great ways to create Multiple Streams of Income.

5 Keys To Affiliate Marketing

By Frank Tello

There are many people who are making a great amount of money with affiliate marketing. This is because affiliate marketing is one of the easiest ways to make money on the Internet. And it is one of the most lucrative programs available. I am going to go over 5 key areas of affiliate marketing that will help you make money.

One of the main reasons that affiliate marketing is so popular is that you sell other peoples products and services and not have to hold any of the inventory. The product owner is responsible for all the inventory and shipping of the product, as well as the actual sales. The way an affiliate gets paid is by promoting the product so that people can go to the site see the product and hopefully clink on the buy button for that product. Also affiliate marketing is free. You do not have to pay to be a member of an affiliate program.

Another key to affiliate marketing is that you get to choose which products or services you want to promote and sell. The thing to remember about this is that you not only look for products that have large commissions. Just because a product has a big commission does not mean that it is a good seller. You have to make sure that there is a market for the product. Make sure that the product is not outdated.

The next thing you need to do is market the product. There are many different ways to market the affiliate products that you choose. Before marketing you have to find the right market to sell the products. Doing some market research would work just right, so that you know what market to place your links to. A good way to find a market place is to write articles about the product or service and submit it to article directories under the proper category. This will drive some good targeted traffic to your site or product.

This next step is a very crucial step. This goes along with marketing the product. In order to be successful with marketing the products that you choose you might want to consider adding your personal recommendation to it. Nothing works better to sell a product than if you put your own seal of approval. Personal recommendations can be anything from a few words like "our top rated product", "my personal favorite", you get the idea. You can even go as far as writing a review on the program or the product for your blog and put a link to it from your blog site.

Finally you should offer some type of bonus. You can offer a free e-book to someone for signing up as an affiliate to one of the programs that you are a member of. This goes a long way with people. As you know offering something for free grabs peoples attention. Also this would be a great thank from you to the people you have signing to the affiliate programs on your site.

Well as you can see there is really not that much to creating a good affiliate marketing program. Put good reliable programs out there for them to sell. Do the homework and find the right programs, find the right market to sell them in. And remember to put your personal recommendations in your ads this will turn into sales. Finally don't forget to offer your visitors something free for singing up to your affiliate program.

7 Reasons Why You Should Join an Affiliate Program Now

By Mario D. Churchill

An affiliate program is an Internet marketing strategy which utilizes the help of an individual who’s not employed by the company but paid by commission in return for his efforts. The actions the individual – or affiliate – is required to perform will depend on the agreement between him and the merchant website. Rates are generally directly proportional to how he performs. If you wish to earn money, whether to have a primary or secondary source of income, joining an affiliate program is definitely the right decision to make.

7 Reasons Why You Should Join an Affiliate Program Now

You Can Start Right Away
Unlike finding employment, there is no reason for you to wait, work on your resume, or spend time from home. No capital investment is necessary. If you want to join an affiliate program, you can do so right away! There is no age, gender, educational, or work requirements for you to meet. As long as you have your own website and preferably Internet connection at home then you’re good to go. Right now, in fact!

You Can Learn and Master Affiliate Marketing in a Jiffy
There is no need for you to read books on affiliate marketing if you don’t want to because you can simply learn from experience. To profit from affiliate marketing, all you really need to know is which products and services will most appeal to the target audience of your website.

You Can Work from Home
Affiliate programs can be treated as a home-based job as well. You don’t need office space and you certainly don’t need to keep working hours. You can work on being an affiliate only when you can or desire to. You need not sacrifice time away from your family because you can work on your laptop while caring for your children.

You’re the Boss
If you only want to work once a week, no one will get on your case. If you want to employ a certain method in advertising, you’ll have to get no one else’s approval but yours. What you say goes because affiliates don’t work for merchant websites. They’re not employees, and they only get paid by commission. Thus, you won’t be causing merchant websites money no matter how long it takes for you to make a sale or lead.

You Choose the Company
And not the other way around! In the real world, there are more unemployed individuals than there are companies with vacancies, giving the latter the upper hand during job interviews. Companies often get the chance to choose the best individuals but pay them the lowest rate possible. But that doesn’t work in affiliate programs. Merchant websites need affiliates more than affiliates need them, and they know this. That’s why they’re willing to pay what you deserve to earn so all you have to do is choose which company’s products or services you feel you’ll best be able to advertise or sell.

You Choose What You Want to Do
There are basically two ways for you to earn as an affiliate. Firstly, if you are under a cost per sale (CPS) scheme, you’ll earn a commission for every sale made from a customer who was directed to the merchant website through yours. Secondly, if you are under a cost per action (CPA) scheme, you could be asked to generate leads for the merchant website or something else except for directly increasing sales through assisted purchases. It’s up to you to choose which option you choose best.

In the earlier days of affiliate marketing, affiliates were allowed to earn from a cost per click (CPC) or pay per click (PPC) scheme but due to various and grave click fraud issues, most, if not all, merchant websites have completely neglected using this method.

You Choose the Payment Scheme

When do you want to get paid? Some affiliate programs issue checks monthly while large well-known sites like Amazon prefer paying quarterly. Some combine all your earnings in one check while others send you separate checks. As there are hundreds of affiliate programs that you can join online, it’s up to you once more to choose the payment scheme most suitable to your needs.

And those are the reasons why you should join an affiliate program now. Ultimately, it will cost you nothing to join but promise you a lot in return when you do!

Affiliate Marketing Campaign

By Strive Mazunga

Some business owners opt to start an affiliate marketing campaign as part of their overall marketing strategy. In most cases the affiliate marketing campaign is only a small portion of the overall marketing strategy but there are some business owners who opt to rely exclusively on this type of marketing. The main purpose of doing this is to save money while still achieving valuable advertising. However, once a business becomes more successful they should consider being more proactive and combining affiliate marketing with other types of Internet marketing such as placing banner ads and orchestrating an email marketing campaign. This article will take a look at what affiliate marketing is and will provide insight into why this is popular and how it can be used effectively.

An affiliate marketing campaign is essentially a situation where other website owners place ads for your business on their websites. These website owners are known as affiliates. It is important to understand how this type of marketing works. In general the affiliates are given code for your banner ad to place on their website and given the freedom to promote their own website as they see fit. In promoting their website they are also attracting attention to your website because of the banner ad directing visitors to your own website.

One of the most appealing elements of affiliate marketing is the affiliate is only compensated when he produces a desired result. This means the business owner is not obligated to pay the affiliate unless the affiliate is successful. Success may be defined as generating traffic to the website, resulting in a sale or even resulting in the Internet user registering on your website or filling out a survey. The compensation for affiliates is generally based on cost per click, cost per lead or cost per sale. Cost per click and cost per lead are usually paid in terms of a flat fee which is awarded to the affiliate each time an Internet user either simply clicks through the banner ad on his website or performs a specific action after clicking through the ad. Cost per sale may result in the affiliate being awarded a flat fee or a percentage of the sale depending on the agreement between the business owner and the affiliate.

The most effective use of affiliate marketing is to actively seek out affiliates with a proven track record of promoting the businesses which they support. Most affiliate programs are open to anyone with a website and it is not necessarily damaging to allow those who are not particularly knowledgeable about marketing to run your banner ad but it is far more worthwhile to seek out affiliates who are quite adept and generating website traffic to their own website. This is important because the more visitors they receive each month the more likely your website it to receive interest from visitors who click on the affiliates banner ad.

Another aspect of affiliate marketing which can contribute to success or failure is the design of your banner ads. It is important to remember affiliate marketing is viewed the same way other types of marketing are viewed and care should be taken to create banner ads which will be appealing to your target audience. This means everything from the colors of your ad to the size and style of the font should be carefully considered to create an appealing advertisement.

Good Affiliate Programs and Common Affiliate Mistakes

By Sibusiso M. Maseko

When i first started online i had no clue on which affiliate programs were worth my time and affords. I got excited about having all these different usernames and passwords to affiliate programs thinking that i'd make so much money. But to my disappointment did not make any sells for months. And it was not because the programs did not work, but because I did not know the good from the bad ones, and did not know how i could promote them in the right way.

I'm going to supply the good type of affiliate programs you should promote and earn income basically for the life of the internet, which took me time to figure out and start earning the commissions i deserved.

Good type of affiliate programs

One of the good affiliate programs worth promoting are 2-tier affiliate programs or residual affiliate programs. This type of affiliate programs allow you to build your own down line "sales force". You get commissions continuously on every sale your sales force make. And your down line can really grow so quickly without you doing much work. So you definitely need decent 2-tier and residual affiliate programs for financial freedom. Most affiliate programs offer 5% of all your sales force single sale.

Get to know how high the sales commission of the particular affiliate product. The sales commissions depend on the profit margins of product industry. Information products tend to have high profit margins of 50% - 75% commissions, while maybe computer software's and tools can turn to be very low in profit margins of about 5%. But some companies offer more commissions from the more units you sell.

Now as you know that most people don't buy from you the first time, you should be aware of short duration cookie affiliate programs. Cookies are limits that tell the vender how long he will be credited for any sales he makes from a referred customer. The best cookie offer is lifetime, so you can reap your rewards for your worked efforts forever. Some programs offer 3 month cookies, but i mean, have you ever brought a product the some time you see it?

Admistration should be essential as well. The affiliate program should offer full advertising tracking services. You should be able to track your click-through rates and advertising effectiveness in your back office. The advertising material should cover customized matches for your client base to be more effective.

Common affiliate mistakes

Most people since they are in a rush of making money from affiliate programs then tend to choose the wrong affiliate product. Don't choose a bandwagon product. These are products that the affiliate program thinks are hot sellers but do not appeal to you the affiliate. You should read, study and choose a product that you are interested and would enjoy promoting. But don't forget to do deep research on of the products demand. Don't promote a product for the sake of making money.

Since most if not all affiliate programs are free to join, people turn to join too many of them at the same time. There may be nothing wrong with having multiple income streams, but you won't be able to promote all of them at once. Put your self in position where you will be able to concentrate and promote your product. First join one affiliate program with a high commission payout, then after you have mastered how to make money and are satisfied with your results, you can then move to the next product.

Try using the product or service first so you can be a product of your own product. Does the product deliver what it says it does? You should know the advantages and disadvantages of the product, then you will be able to produce it in a true manner.

Basically knowing the best online affiliate programs and avoiding the most common affiliate mistakes can get you making money in no time at all. Most affiliate marketers fall into these problems and lose interest in affiliate marketing, living behind financial freedom. So don't fall in that pit and apply these steps.

3 Top Tools and Services for an Effective Internet Marketing Solutíon

By Sydney Nelson (c) 2007

Everyone knows the Internet is growing exponentially and continually evolving. The major players in the continual evolution of the Internet are the major search engines and consumer generated media such as blogs. Because of the continual changes, a well rounded Internet marketing strategy must include a variety of proven marketing options to ensure success. I will outline 3 of the most effective Internet marketing solutíons available and how they relate to your marketing strategy.
SEO Optimization

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the first because the frëe advertising afforded by the search engines is partly determined by on-page optimization techniques. With thousands of new Websites being created daily, the competition for a listíng on the first search result page is increasingly saturated for the popular keywords. Statistics show better than 90% of people only look at the first search result page, and a similar percentage only clíck on the top search listing.

In order to compete effectively, a Web page must be designed around a keyword or more effectively, a keyword phrase. The keywords must be included in the page's title, keyword META tag, page's description, the first heading (using the H1 HTML tag), throughout the body of the page and within the last 25 words on the page. These are just a few of the basic SEO on-page options that, although will not guarantëe a first page listing, are definitely required as a starting point in an effective Internet marketing strategy.

In most cases, there is too much competition for certain keywords such as "golf clubs". A better strategy would be to use "golf clubs Chicago" or handcrafted golf clubs". The more specific you make your keyword phrase the better. A number of frëe tools are available that will show the popularity of keywords and how often they are used in the search engines on a monthly basis. These will allow you to customize your Web page knowing the keyword phrase's popularity. If you get the first page listing for a keyword with less than 100 searches per month for instance, then it doesn't matter because your traffíc will be very limited.

Link Exchanges

Once the on-page optimizations are complete, the off-page optimization options need to be addressed. Link exchanges are perhaps the best off-page SEO technique available. If you download and install the Google toolbar on your browser, you will see the Google PageRank of each site you visit. Your PageRank is determined by the number of other sites linking to your site, and the QUALITY of the link is a major consideration. Pages are ranked from 1 to 10. The higher the PageRank of the site linking to yours, the better. Sites with a PR7 and above are considered as authority sites and a back link will send Google's spider to your page on a regular basis.

There are a number of ways to get a back link to your site. You can email a request to the Webmaster for a link exchange and if they agree you would return the favor by placing a link to their site on your page. You can also purchase the link. A number of sites offër this service for a monthly fee. So if you want to quickly get your site listed by Google and the major search engines, then paying for a PR8 back link for a month or two might be well worth the ínvestment in the long run, as new sites are placed in a "sand box" by Google for several months until they prove their longevity.

One back link from a PR8 site is worth 1,000 back links from PR2 or less sites. As a matter of fact, numerous links from low ranking sites will actually be detrimental to your site, because each back link is like a vote for your site. If you have too many low ranking sites voting for yours, Google will be reluctant to reward your site with a higher PR. You have to do your research on the site that offers to link to yours because if they were blacklisted by Google, your site will receive the same fate and you probably will nevër recover from this.

A PR 4 or 5 is relatively easy to attain. So your best bet is to limit your back links to PR5 and above for the best results. And by all means avoid link farms. Before Google upgraded its algorithm, just the number of back links was considered. But now the actual PageRank of your back link is considered AND the PageRank of the sites listing to THAT link. Links from link farms are now looked upon as basically sp@m links. You would be better off purchasing a listíng in a major link directory like Yahoo or DMZ. It's definitely worth the ínvestment as these are authority sites and are a major vote for your site!

Blogs

As previously indicated, consumer generated media is a major factor in the evolution of the Internet. Case in point is the enormous effect blogs had on the last Presidential campaign. A very large percentage of most searches will include blogs on the first page listing. Over 50% of purchases, online and offline, are preceded by an online search for more information. And a large percentage of the information is offered by blogs. People are very interested in the opinions of others on their topic of interest.

The major blogs are updated on a daily basis which is very important to Google's algorithm which uses the frequency of updates (daily, hourly and by minute) as a determining factor in the search result ranking. A powerful marketing method used by the major blogs is to submit articles on a particular topic to the major article hubs such as EzineArticles.com. The article hub benefits by having continually updated information (which Google likes) where they can place their monëy makíng AdSense ads. The blogger benefits by having a back link to their blog at the bottom of the article.

As numerous other bloggers and Webmasters access the article hubs for fresh information, the article can be syndicated virally to a number sites on the Internet. This creates a number of back links to your blog or your site generating an enormous amount of pre-qualified frëe traffíc.

In Summary

These are just a few of the most effective online Internet marketing options available. Other options such as auto-responder email, Ezine advertising and pay per clíck advertising should be included in a well rounded Internet marketing strategy. No matter what options you use, you definitely need to start with your on-page SEO techniques. Your listing in the search results will be enhanced by a properly optimized page.

Further optimization must include the off-page SEO techniques such as generating back links with the major site directories, link exchanges and articles submitted to the major article hubs. Using a blog for a reference in your article can be a good thing as people will be more inclined to visit a blog since it's not a salës page. Once they have received enough information and you have generated their confidence in your opinions, you can end up with a life time customer.

Building Your Social Capital Making Investments, Yielding High Returns

By William Arruda

While investing in the stock market these days doesn't always guarantee a profit, investing in your social capital is likely to yield a very high return - that ideal job you have been searching for.

We've all heard the statistic that nearly two thirds of all jobs are found through networking; yet many of us have not made steady and deliberate efforts towards building and maintaining our networks. To be successful in today's turbulent work environment, you need to be connected to a network of resources for mutual benefit and growth. And you need to maintain those connections throughout your career.

The average executive changes jobs every three years, companies every four and industries every five. Even CEOs are not exempt from this game of musical chairs. The average CEO tenure is now 2.6 years. And according to Spencer Stuart, in the top 100 branded US companies, CMOs stay in their jobs an average of just 23 months. Ouch!

You Reap What You Sow Combine the fact that most jobs are found through networking with this trend of decreasing tenure and the need for investing in your social capital increases. Like with any investment, you need to be focused and committed. If you take your eye off the stock market at any time, you risk losing some of your hard earned cash. It's much the same with networking. To build the greatest amount of social capital, you must stay focused on building new relationships while maintaining your existing contacts. Management Guru Tom Peters says, "You have to develop a Rolodex obsession, building and deliberately managing an ever-growing network of professional contacts."

You Have to Give to Get Although you need these contacts to support your success, the approach to building a valuable network involves giving--not taking. The more you give to your network, the more they will be there when you truly need them. According to Keith Ferrazzi, author of the best selling networking book Never Eat Alone and one of the world's most connected individuals, "When someone comes to me for advice on how to build a network because they need a job now, I tell them it's useless. People can tell the difference between desperation and an earnest attempt to create a relationship."

Networking is not about building superficial contacts. It is about building relationships. And like with all relationships, the most successful ones are not one-sided. When you approach networking from the perspective of giving, you develop long-lasting relationships and make small but steady deposits in your social capital account, steadily increasing its value.

Solid Networking Starts at Home Do you send emails or instant messages to people who work in the next office?

If you do, you're missing one of the best opportunities to network. Many executives concentrate on building their networks through professional associations and external activities or they spend time getting the largest number of connections in virtual networks like Ryze and LinkedIn. These are valuable networking activities, but networking isn't just an external effort. Connecting with your colleagues inside the walls of your company can be quite fruitful.

Since the average tenure of an executive position is waning, your colleagues at your current employer will soon be working somewhere else. This gives you contacts in new companies and an opportunity to include their replacements (at your existing company) in your internal professional network. This investment pays off double. Try that with NASDAQ!

Slow and Steady Wins the Race When I look at the people I know who are extremely well connected, there is one thing they all have in common: they do a little bit of networking each day - forging new relationships while staying connected to their existing contacts. It is just a natural part of their routines, like brushing their teeth. So you must adopt the same approach if you want to increase the value of your social capital. You must pen into your 'do' list those activities that will generate new network contacts while growing stronger relationships with the members of your existing network.

I have found it extremely helpful to commit to three network nurturing or building activities each day. I write them on the top of my daily do list and work on them before I start any other item on the list. Investing in my social capital has been the best investment I have made in my business.

Last year, when I was going over my 2003 revenue with my accountant, I realized that every speaking opportunity I obtained that year came from a network contact. Every single gig! And public speaking is a major part of my business - 60%. So my network was directly responsible for more than half my total revenue!

Social Capital is the Most Valuable Type Your social capital is not only helpful to you in finding a job, it's helpful to you in doing your job. As an executive, one of the greatest assets you bring to an employer is your Rolodex (or palm pilot for those of you who are more tech savvy). Being connected makes it more likely that you will find the resources necessary to effectively manage any task that comes along. And being a known personal brand among your company's customers makes you even more valuable. So networking is actually one of your job assignments even though it might not show up in your official annual goals and commitments.

Winning personal brands know that the lone-ranger approach to career management doesn't work. When you watch the Apprentice, you see that Donald Trump is connected to a whole host of resources that will help him increase his success. It is much the same for Jack Welch, Richard Branson and Oprah. And if you look closely at the executives whom you know and respect, you will probably see that they are able to draw on immense social capital - a large number of solid relationships with colleagues, clients, business partners, etc.

Get Started Now Even if you haven't focused on building and nurturing your network, you can make great strides in growing your social capital in a short time. You must make sincere and regular efforts to be successful. First, find out how strong your networking skills are. You can take a five minute networking quiz here: http://www.reachcc.com/networkquiz.

Then, commit to at least three networking activities you will undertake each day. Remember what John F. Kennedy said "Ask not what your network can do for you, ask what you can do for your network". Well OK, that's not exactly what he said, but it makes it much easier to remember the number one rule for expanding your social capital.

By Lee Coppin

Profiting off a niche is something internet marketers have been writing about for a long time. The principles of internet marketing apply just as much for blogs as it dose for the normal website.

Niche blogging can be extremely profitable. A well run niche blog caters directly to a passionate audience on a specific subject. The focus of a niche blog is such that it deals with a specific subject or sub category of a subject in such away that it excludes other interests completely, well almost.

The Secret to Creating Ads That Sell

Whether you are starting a new business or looking to attract new sales there are a few things you can't afford. Losing potential clients to your competitor and wasting money on ineffective advertising.

Unfortunately, these things happen more often than not. So, why do some businesses do so well while others fail? It's not due to more marketing dollars spent. Instead a strategic plan was evoked to produce an effective advertisement.

There are many important elements that go into producing an effective ad. First, let me start by saying that coming up with a great ad it isn't rocket-science. There are no complicated formulas to follow in order to create an ad that grabs the readers' attention.

Second, using just creativity can kill your ad. Let me explain. Creative ideas are just that, creative. Before you slap down an idea and call it "brilliant" take the few minutes and ask yourself the following questions:

* Who is my targeted audience?

* Does the ad clearly communicate my message?

* What is "unique" about my message?

* How does my ad compare to my competitors?

* What will motivate my targeted audience to respond?

Your ad has to be more than just creative. It must exude value in its message. Think of the reasons why you buy a product or service. Almost every reason for a purchase has some sort of value tied to it. Whether it saves money, tastes good or satisfies an emotional need, it serves a valued purpose.

Make Headlines Work for You

The headline is by far one of the most important elements in creating an effective ad. There are thousands of pages both in print and online that cover the subject of headlines. Why? Well, quite frankly, it makes or breaks an ad. The headline is in essence the voice of your ad. It shouts out: "Hey This Product Will Make You Rich, Here's How!"

Rather than using: "Jane's Homemade Cookies" use "Instant Smiles with Easy to Bake Homemade Cookies".

Always use appealing keywords in your headline that attract attention or stir up curiosity. The goal is to get your targeted audience to read the rest of your copy. Consider using the following keywords when writing your headline:

New, How, Why, Free, Save, Fast, Now, Announcing, Introducing, Wanted, Make, Grow, Sale, Limited, Guaranteed.

Next time you notice a headline that grabs your attention; use it and test it on your product or service. But always keep away from exaggerating your offer. You will quickly lose credibility if you are not honest with your targeted audience.

Writing Simple Yet Effective Body Copy

Once you accomplish transitioning the reader from the headline into the body copy, build momentum by relating to the viewers' needs and satisfying their desires with each written word.

When writing the body copy; keep words simple and to the point. Use sub-headlines whenever possible and keep paragraphs short.

It's important to make it easy for the reader to scan through the copy. If your offer consists of many benefits, use a bulleted list.

Avoid cluttering up your ad by trying to cram too much in the space provided. Eliminate unnecessary words that can drown your message.

Using Visual Elements

There are no set rules of where the graphics must be placed on your ad. However, when selecting illustrations or photographs, display your product or choose ones that are relevant to your offer.

Using graphics can enhance your message as well as grab a viewer's attention when they glance around on a page. Remember, graphics can communicate a message before a single word is read.

Ask for the Sale While Creating a Sense of Urgency

Limited-time offers can create a sense of urgency, but giving your reader a valid reason why they should act now generates more sales. Again, use benefits to attract the reader to take action.

Is there a free gift with the purchase? Will it enhance their lives immediately? Is it a special one-time low price offer?

People love bargains. Use discounts to attract those who want to take advantage of your offer by providing a coupon with an expiration date.

Lastly, specify how your product or service can be obtained and ask for the sale. If it requires a phone call ask them to pick-up the telephone and call. If you require payment, tell them what forms of payment you accept and how to make them.

How To Use Your SEM Campaign As A Long Term Sales Tool

By Barbara I Fischer

The common misconception is that once the Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaign is set up it can run itself. Even if your campaign is going great in the first month, you need to develop and fine-tune all campaign elements over the next 4-5 months. We at Trendhaus know that the longer you run SEM campaigns and “tweak” them, the more successful they become (for the same amounts of media budget). So, over the next six months, invest some time in your campaign performance. Follow these steps consistently and turn your SEM campaign into a long term sales engine!

Insert your tracking code
If you haven’t already inserted a conversion tracking code in the trial period, now is the time to insert it! Decide what you want people to ultimately do on your site i.e. purchase online, enquire or sign up and then place the code behind this ‘goal’ HTML page. The code will then track exactly how many purchases, enquiries or sign ups occurred as a result of your SEM campaign. You can then filter these results to see which keywords and text ads convert for you and really generate sales.

Use analytics and reporting tools
Google offers an analytics tool which allows users to learn more about who their visitors are, where they come from and how they interact on your site. The analytics function gives statistics on not only your SEM campaigns but other marketing initiatives as well so you can compare what is working for you. Other search engines also offer reporting tools which return important data on the effectiveness of your text ads and keywords. Regularly running these reporting tools will enable you to write better text ads and strengthen your marketing activities.

Pause ineffective keywords
Three months into the campaign, you should analyze the performance of you various key words and pause words which are not performing in regards to clicks and conversion data. We have clients who run their entire campaign with 10 key words only. These “golden nugget” words generate significant amounts of new client leads and/or online sales for them. Pausing ‘ineffective’ words will enable you to allocate your budget more effectively to better performing words.

Amend text ads for relevancy
Relevancy is a big thing in search engine marketing. There is nothing worse than seeing an ad that does not speak to the end consumer. For example: a business that is advertising their services in purely functional terms will run the risk of performing poorly, simply due to inappropriate copy writing for the web. If copy writing isn’t your strength outsource this part of your campaign to a specialist. It can make a world of difference to your campaign performance and in the end to your sales.

Also, amend text ads for location and keyword relevancy. Putting the suburb in the title will help deter wasteful clicks and save budget. For example: if a user is searching for a service in “Cronulla” and your ad shows with “Sydney CBD” in the title, they are less likely to click on it as it is not relevant to them. This increases your click through rate and saves the budget for people that are looking for products or services in your location.

Bidding strategy
Imagine the search engine market as something like the stock exchange. Competitors are constantly entering and exiting the market, driving the ‘market price’ for popular key words up and sometimes down. If you don’t consistently monitor and amend your bids you will soon find yourself on page three of the sponsored links. Coupled with the so-called ‘quality score’ for your text ads, search engines pretty much place the highest bidder for a particular keyword on position one. Understandably, this is where everyone wants to be because you will get the most traffic to your website. However, you have to remember that just like the stock exchange there are small and large players in SEM. Some companies have a lot of budget to spend when you may not. Be smart with your bidding! Don’t bid $10 on one word when you only have a daily budget of $30. In this case you should either reconsider your budget or look for another, more cost-effective type of marketing for your business.

Monitor best click days
After running your campaign for at least four months, you will begin to see clear trends in click patterns. Determine the days in which your campaign receives the most clicks as well as conversions. After four months, many of my clients move the budget from the least performing days and shift it to the best performing days only. Start off by eliminating one day and then over time you can refine your campaign in a way that will enable you to forecast results.

The one thing I have learnt about search engine marketing is that it’s not rocket science. However, it is time consuming and it needs 100% dedication. You need to allocate at least 3-4 hours per week to refine and analyze your campaign to make it work for you. Understandably, for anybody trying to run a business, 3-5 hours a week is a big ask especially when business is booming from the SEM campaign. If you cannot dedicate this time away from your business, sometimes it is best to enlist the help of a good agency or dedicated professional. That way, you can focus on your core business and let the experts do what they are best at – generating leads and sales for you.

Home Based Internet Business - Ten Things To Do When It Goes Quiet

By Elaine Currie

Most online businesses are affected by seasonal lulls in business. There are always peaks and troughs, but sometimes there is a distinct lull when it feels as if the Internet has come to a halt. You could spend this time checking your email inbox and your website stats every half hour or so because you refuse to believe how slow things are. Alternatively you could put this quiet time to good use.

Here are ten things you can do to get your internet based business ready for new business when the lull ends.

Clear out your inbox.

Your inbox has probably not been sorted out thoroughly for months. Set up folders for categories of mail and move anything you need to keep into the appropriate folder. Delete anything else that's over a month old that you don't remember reading.

Organise your bookmarks

Be honest, how long is it since you gave your favourites/bookmarks a thorough spring clean? We all start out with the best of intentions for the way we will deal with saving useful websites to our bookmarks and most of us end up in a mess with far too many things stuffed into a handy miscellaneous folder where we can never find what need.

Find new forums

Posting messages on Internet forums is a good way of getting to know new people who might be interested in your products and most give you the chance to post a link to your website as part of your signature. Join new forums that relate to your business and form relationships with other members.

Write some articles

Writing and distributing articles is still one of the best ways of getting free traffic to your website. Use the quiet spell to write some extra articles. If you have put off article writing, take advantage of the slow down in business and spend time brushing up your writing skills.

Find new article directories

There are new online article directories opening up all the time. Search for new article directories and add them to your favourites so you can post future articles there.

Set up a viral advertising system

There are many sources of free viral advertising that will take on a life of their own and continue to grow and spread for years after you have set them up.

Get your website listed in Web Directories

There's no point in trying to rush this task, there are hundreds of web directories and it would be too boring to sit at this work for days on end. Make a habit of "suggesting" your website to a certain number of web directories each day.

Exchange quality links

Even if you have an automatic link exchange system working on your website, it is worthwhile making personal requests to webmasters for "partner" reciprocal links with high PR websites.

Be Sociable

Social networking is a great way to get your website seen without you having to pay for the privilege. As with forums, it is essential to check the rules before you do anything on these sites and, above all, make sure you never spam other members.

Take some time off.

Join the rest of humanity and take a vacation. Rest and relaxation is good for everyone. You can go back to being an Internet hermit in a refreshed state of mind and body as soon as the holiday season ends.

Even though a website might not have seasonal content, it can still be affected by the time of year. You can't change this but you can make sure you don't waste time you could be using to improve your business.

7 Key Ways to Increase Your Google Adsense Income

By Colin Lim

Let me share with you 7 key ways of increasing your Google Adsense income. Obviously you need to get more people to click on the links that you have on your site/blog. You have already researched your niche subject and worked out that the keywords pay reasonably well, so I am not going to go into that in this post. Once people are at your site you need to get them to click on the Google Adsense links.

Here are 7 key ways to increase the likelihood of someone clicking on a Google Adsense link on your site or blog and thus increasing your Google Adsense Income:

1. Make sure that you customise the colours and look of the Google Adsense code to blend in with the colours on your site/blog. I see so many sites and blogs that just put the Google Adsense code anywhere and they dont do anything with the colour scheme so the ads become an eyesore on the page. Most users these days are sick of ads as they get them on nearly every site. This is done within Googles site. Google gives you the choice of what colours to use. A very good way of making sure that you get the colours to blend in, is to use a program like Adobe Photoshop and by using its colour picker, you can get the exact colour code # to input into Google. Make sure the Adsense ads have the same background colour as your site or the place in your site that you will add the code. Try to also match the font colour with the surrounding pages colour.

2. Make sure you choose the Google Adsense format that blends well into your site/blog. Don't overdo it & put way too many links. You are probably thinking the more links the increased likelihood that someone will click on the link, but the opposite is usually true. If a visitor visits your site/blog only to be inundated by ads, the likelihood that the visitor will stay on your site dramatically decreases. The visitor is looking for good content/information about the topic they are interested in, they don't want to see a slew of ads.

3. A really excellent tip that has had a lot of success for me and many other internet marketers, is to add a picture next to each Adsense ad. Choose some small pictures that are related to the subject of your blog/site and add them next to each Adsense ad. This way the ads really blend into your site/blog.

4. Limit the number of Google Adsense ad blocks on any page/site. Once again, the last thing a visitor wants to see is a slew of ads all over the place. The maximum number should be two blocks of ads but really I think one is enough on any one page. You can, of course, have other ads from affiliate marketing programs or other banners on the same page as long as these are also blended in.

5. You can choose which ads are actually allowed to be displayed on your site. If you visit your site and it shows ads that are either from competitors or ads that you think would not be attractive to your visitors to click on, go back to Google's Adsense set up page and click on Competitive Ad Filter. In this page you can include a list of the domains that you do not want to see ads from. This can increase the clicks on your site especially if there are ads coming up for sites that aren't really related to the content of your page. This can happen if your sites content is a little confusing to Google's adbots. For example, I had a blog about debt consolidation & Google would sometimes display ads on how to consolidate your database, which was clearly not related to the subject and wouldn't get any visitors clicking on those links.

6. Use Google's Channel feature to track the success of your ads. Within Adsense Setup, you will notice a tab called Channels. This allows you to create different channels for each block of ads and on different pages/sites. You can track the success of how different ad formats on the same page, or different pages within your site or on different sites altogether. Using this tracking feature, you can then eliminate or modify the ads that are not working well for you and spend more time on the ones that are. This is a very important part of Google Adsense success but so many people are not using it.

7. A lot of people are missing out on some extra revenue that can be gained by including Adsense for Search on their site. Essentially Google allows you to add a search bar on your site that either searches the web, or both your site and the web. Any web results that come up through searches on this Google Search bar from your site, are actually paid ads and pay you money if users click on those links.

Attraction Marketing with Personal Branding Online

By Colin Meunier

Have you got stuck in the rut of having to purchase over priced business opportunity leads and dialing for dollars only to get rejected? Let me tell you that they is a better way to build your network marketing business, using what is referred to as creating your personal brand online. Also known as attraction marketing

Personal branding is very important if you want to create substantial success in your online network marketing home business opportunity. All top leaders in the industry know this and have created a personal brand for themselves.

Personal branding is the complete opposite of what people have been doing for years in network marketing. You see instead of chasing people to look at your business like the old way, when you use personal branding to build your business you will have people chasing you wanting to join you in your business. That is a huge difference in marketing strategy.

Here are few tools you will need to implement a personal branding online:

Website – You will need a personal website that you can share your story and create your personal brand.

Auto Responder - You will need an auto responder to build your list for following up with your potential prospects.

Here are some important principles to keep in mind when creating your personal brand in order for it to work well for you.

You Inc. – This is where you establish you as the business. This is very important to know and realize that you are the business, and not the company you represent.

The expert status – You need to position yourself as an expert. This is basically showing people that you are a leader. It is very true that people want to join leaders and so if you establish yourself as a leader in a particular area or network marketing then you will have people wanting to be apart of what you are doing.

WIFM – This is what is referred to the so what factor. You reader has to be able to read your website and see what is in it for them.

On your website what you do is write your story about you and how you can help people. Your story has to have the proper flow. You want to share some dirt on you. This is basically to show you are being transparent to people. People like to do business with people that are being real with them.

You want to establish a like, trust and relate factor. People want to know they can trust you. They need to be able to relate to you and your life, and of course they need to like you

You can share your story of where you grew up and what kind of troubles or adventures you have gone through in life. Then you can not just stop there. You see many people just put up a personal website and talk about their family and their dog etc. but you need to have a purpose to it. Remember the what is in it for me factor. Why are you sharing that stuff?

Then you can go into your business life and what you do for business and how you will be able to help people when they join you in your business. This is very important as this is why they are on your webpage.

Is Your Money Faucet Leaking?

By Anup More

A lot of people who are into information and product marketing online have a problem. They are losing money without realizing it, and the problem lies in the fact that they are not interested in investigating the mechanics the way internet marketing experts do. To be fair, I'm not expecting anyone to be an internet marketing expert. I'm simply suggesting that in order to build the right kind of process and structure within your marketing efforts to double or triple your income effectively.

I'll list down three points of weakness, and hopefully it will get you to think about how to implement your marketing program in a way that could multiply your residual income several times over.

Point of Weakness #1 - You do not have different points of entry.

I've found that when you have multiple points of entry into a product promotion, it becomes more diverse, more robust and definitely more exciting. Send people not just to a landing page. Send them to a shy-yes page or a namesqueeze page. Send them to a product review page. Send them to a blog post. Or even, to an article directory (didn't think of that one did you). Each of these pages should contain your affiliate link. More importantly, the tools should be used effectively to reduce the buyer defense mechanism. After all, when someone sees flashy sales copy, they are going to have their BS detector on overdrive mode. If you send them to places that they are more likely to feel safe and secure, that will be a great entry point to send them to a link you are referring, whether an affiliate recommendation or product link.

Point of Weakness #2 - You do not have a multiplier system.

If you get someone to read one article, one sales copy or one blog post, that's great. People are reading. But, isn't it more brilliant to have people read more than one EACH TIME? See, when people are exposed more times to your promotion campaigns, there is always going to be a time of the day when people are going to just simply stop paying attention. However, where there is great content, there is not going to be much problem. People will learn about it, and they will tell their friends.

Yet we know that sometimes, in order to persuade someone to do that extra step of clicking and sending a link to a friend, it takes a high level of trust and possibility 'ethical bribery'. You incentivize them to do the marketing for you. That's partly viral marketing in action. However, it is true that there are products out there in the market that will never be promoted as virally as the information in that same market. If you just push product, you won't get much unless people can consume it and then use that to tell other people about it. Even for you reading this right now, you would probably feel like you want to tell your friends about it. All you need to do, really, is to drop them an email, but things could be made so much easier if you could do it automatically, right?

See, multiplier systems don't just work with products, or affiliates. Multiplier systems work with credibility and referring links. This is of utmost importance for SEO based marketing, as well as for those who are new who do not have that credibility yet. After all, why not just give away your best content and innovate new content and ideas? How about getting people to give away your best content free to boost your credibility?

Point of Weakness #3 - You do not have leverage.

To understand leverage, think of the analogy of working out. You want to work out, but you don't want to have to find one place to use weights, another place to use a treadmill and another place to use a bench press. You would probably like to have an "all-in-one" gym because that helps you to create far more economy of time for you, right?

Well, think of it this way .On your website, there are many things that they can't see like in a gym. If they read one post on your blog, they may not have realized it's a massive thread on your forum. You may even have a product around this blog post that is stuck somewhere "down there". It's like a gym member only seeing one room and not realizing there are other amazing features there. If you don't have the capability to cross refer automatically, you will still die from exhaustion. There is just too much information out there, if you don't find a way to automatically link things together, it will be a serious problem for you in the future.

Conclusion

All that said, how do you actually leverage? Well, ask yourself if the things you are doing could be automated. Think of innovations to help you to cut short the learning curve and to reduce the number of steps in a process. If you can reduce those steps, it becomes more efficient almost immediately. I encourage people who are involved in setting up their products to look at the way in which they are setting up their products. Could they be more efficient? Or are they clumsy with the process? Are they able to see how the effort for doing certain things could be reduced simply through a new process innovation? While this takes a little experience, I would say that by developing a high level of insight into your own business will open up a plethora of possibilities for you, because your expertise and experience will grow with time.

Is Niche Marketing for You?

By Elliot Jarves

As 'less than guru' online marketers, we're constantly asking the question "What makes the difference?"...

What really is it that allows some niche marketers to achieve success beyond our wildest dreams while others haplessly flounder. While there a number of elements, I will attempt today to isolate just a few. These are some of the things I feel to be of key importance in obtaining the online income you desire.

1. Knowledge - It seems crazy to say but despite all the info products, all the articles, all the forums, all the free reports, all the blog posts, alot of people still find it hard to nail down specifics on how to attain a certain outcome like a profitable niche site or a high selling info product.

The problem of course is information overload. It's not a lack of information rather so much information that sorting through it to find what really works and what doesn't becomes the main challenge.

2. Resources - When you are already successful as an online marketer you have resources that the average online entrepreneur doesn't have. You have access to teams of people who can increase your productivity and earning potential exponentially.

As a newbie however you have to do everything yourself. Your goal at this point should be working out how you can get more work done with the same effort with the help of either other people or automated software programs that can carry out various tasks for you.

Since we're talking about Niche Marketing in particular, consider this.

Average Joe niche marketer wants to start making money from niche sites. He spends his time creating the website following a certain plan, promoting his site, and so on. Having to do all the work himself he might be lucky to create 5 or 6 solid niche sites in a month.

At the same time Guru niche marketer decides he wants to ramp up his niche marketing income. So he asks his programmer to whip him up some software that can create these niche sites automatically.

He spends a few minutes per day running the software and all the work he would have had to do manually is taken care of. That's what I mean by RESOURCES!

The good thing is that there are software programs that have been created for such purposes by these marketers that are now available to the public.

If you can sift through them prudently without succumbing to the ever present sales hype you can find certain tools that can help you, the average niche marketer, get the same advantage that the guru's have.

Again, combining the right knowledge with the right resources along with of course taking plenty of action can turn anyone into a niche marketing guru period!

Internet Marketing Evolution

By T Perkins

Internet marketing refers to effective leveraging of online advertising to enable the target audience to respond positively. Design, Development, Marketing and Promotions, are crucial to Internet Marketing which entails:

* search engine marketing,
* display advertising,
* e-mail marketing,
* affiliate marketing,
* interactive advertising and
* viral marketing

Among the different business blueprints that Internet Marketing relies on, are the B2B, B2C and the new P2P varieties. The first comprises companies making business deals with each other while the second involves direct sales to the final client. The third model or peer to peer, entails individuals exchanging goods among themselves. Some of the interesting formats seen within the domain of Internet marketing are:

* where you have to name your price and then choose items within that range,
* where you can find the best and lowest prices for a product, and
* where you can bid online for a product.

Pay per click or PPC is essentially a model to generate more ad revenues. Under this scheme, Advertisers pay only when the users click on ads to visit their site. The bidding is on keywords which advertisers believe will be entered by their target audiences on a search engine when searching the product they want. When the user’s keyword matches the advertiser’s, the latter’s ad will feature on the search results page as a “sponsored” one. Thus PPC advertising is a search engine marketing gimmick used predominantly by Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing and MSN adCenter to name a few.

Pay Per Action or PPA is prominent within domains of online advertising and marketing. It involves an advertiser paying for an ad only when an action determined by the advertiser has been undertaken in the form of purchase of a product, filling a questionnaire etc. Google Adsense and eBay Adcontext are instances of this model.

Pay per call or PPC is akin to the pay per click method but the difference lies in the former being a blueprint for ad postings on search engines and online yellow pages which allows those publishing it to levy a per-call charge on the advertisers for every call generated. Technologically speaking this “pay per call” is enabled by the click-to-call. For more information regarding this topic please visit our corporate blog.

4 Steps To An Amazing Affiliate Programme

By Kevin Cooper

Number 1. Give people good reasons to sign up.
This is where most people fail. They create an affiliate programme, and put a link on the web pages to invite people to join that says “Click here to sign up” and they think that’s their job done! If you want people to sell for you you’ve got to give them some real good reasons why they should.

Create a sales letter explaining the benefits of joining your programme. Tell them how good the commission rate is (Make it a really good rate, 50% is good). Explain how they can have a business which earns them a living without them ever having to create their own products, they don’t even need a website and where someone else (you) does all the really hard work.

Number 2: Give them good marketing materials
It’s a big mistake to assume that because someone signed up to your programme they’re some kind of marketing expert. They may be a complete newbie. Do the work for them. After all you don’t have to pay their wages or benefits.

Give them the tools. Banner ads, pay per click ads, email promotions, articles and press releases. Whatever it takes; remember you’re doing it for your own benefit in the long run. It’s all about multiplication, if you do a successful email promotion; let’s just say it gets a modest 25 sales, imagine having a hundred affiliates doing the same, now you’ve got 2500 sales. Multiplication means mega money.

Number 3: Make them feel special.
Write a special email newsletter every week just for your affiliates, remind them how important they are to your business, and praise the top performers. Give them strategies for marketing your products. Tell them about new product launches and new marketing tools you’ve got for them.

Number 4: Competition is motivation.
This is a great idea, run weekly competitions for your affiliates. The top seller each week gets a prize. Cash prizes are good, you figure out what you can afford, don’t be mean though. Send a short email each week announcing the winner and encouraging the others to try and beat the guy. Some people will go all out just to see their name at the top of the list.

Follow up on these tips and you could see your products fly out, with little effort or cost to yourself. Remember these important points, tell people all the good reasons they should sign up, offer encouragement and tell them how important they are to your business and motivate them. A poorly set up affiliate programme will result in a low amount of traffic to your web site, low sales figures and discouraged affiliates. A successful affiliate program is money in the bank, more money than you dreamed of.

Don’t dream about it, do it!

Internet Marketing Ideas- Top Five Things You Can Do For Your Webpage Visitors

By Joel Christopher

Your webpage visitors are not there to stay forever, but you can definitely do something to make them linger longer in your site, and possibly come back. There are many things that you can do for your webpage visitors, but as an Internet marketer, you will definitely look for those things which can bring in the most valuable people in the least possible time.

Here are the top five things every Internet marketer must do for their webpage visitors to be assured of success in their business.

Top 5: Sell your product to them.

This is very popular. You sell your product to the people. Of course, this goes with the assumption that you have a target market in tow already for your particular products. Assuming you have done your marketing plan beforehand, this should definitely be the least of your concerns as you devise things for your webpage visitors. Selling requires some bit of savvy and timing on your part, so make sure that you time everything to a tee.

Top 4: Brand Yourself

As you sell your product, you need to set your products apart from all the others. Branding yourself is a way of setting your business identity and having them remember it. If you brand yourself to your customers, it will be more likely that they will remember you quickly and are most likely to come back to your webpage for it.

Top 3: Establish Yourself as an Expert

Now this is also very important. You do not just establish your brand or business identity. But you must also try to win your webpage visitors' trust and confidence in your capabilities with regard to the niche or field that you have chosen. You cannot expect people to buy your products continually and remember your brands unless you were able to establish yourself as an expert in that field.

Top 2: Provide them with Valuable Information

Once you have established yourself to be an expert, you got to back up your claim by means of providing them with valuable information. What sort of information would they be expecting? Well, if you are an expert in Internet marketing, they will expect you to give out Internet marketing articles that can help them become better in that field.

Valuable information varies from target market to target market. To be able to effectively pull this off, you need to know your market well.

Top 1: Have them Join Your List

Ultimately, the best way to sustain customer relations is by means of having them give their names and email addresses before they leave your website. Having them join your list enables you to sell your products continually, establish yourself more, make them more comfortable with you and in general, bring the passive income every Internet marketer wishes to have.

You will be given the license to follow up on them and sell them things once they were convinced to join your list. It means also that they will be expecting you to deliver content and updates to them on a daily basis.

Build a List and Make Real Money Online With Affiliate Marketing

By Willi D

The affiliate marketer can take advantage of the fact that list building is less of a mystery these days. You can actually find free list building courses online. What a relief. These were the same courses being offered at $497 and upwards.

I believe one reason for this is due to list building software/tools being a lot more affordable and easier to use. Thanks also to the product owners who have decided to share their list building expertise at an affordable cost.

You don't even need to know html to set up a squeeze page and you can sign up to an autoresponder service for under $20 per month. Clearly, this is great news for the affiliate marketer who can now begin building a list from scratch and maximise traffic sent to his/her affiliate product website.

As an affiliate marketer what you need to do now is send your traffic to your squeeze page then send it to your affiliate product website. Simple. This is how to make better affiliate commissions.

So here in simple terms is how to build a profitable list in quick time and make meaningful commissions.

Firstly you need a landing page and preferably one with a squeeze page. The sole function of the squeeze page is to capture names and email addresses of visitors. They either opt in or leave the site. Your visitors details will then be sent you your autoresponder.

Your autoresponder enables you to send your subscribers automated responses and carefully crafted follow up messages. This allows you to keep in contact with your visitors and build a relationship with them. You must bear in mind that this is not a selling campaign.

You must drive traffic to your squeeze page. There are two main ways to do this. Free or paid. You have to decide which one best suits you. Free takes time for instance article marketing and Pay Per Click advertising costs money but can drive traffic to your site very quickly. You must however choose the right keywords to make this happen.

Now once you get subscribers you have to help them succeed online. Like I mentioned earlier it is not all about trying to sell something. It is a whole new mindset. You simply can't go with the attitude of squeezing out dollars from your list at every turn. Do this and they will hit the unsubscribe button real quick.

The beauty of having a list is that once you build trust with your list you can now make product recommendations. In other words send your subscribers back to your affiliate website. You will find a much higher response which of course will mean more commissions for you.

Are you an affiliate marketer? Is not having a list the reason why you have not been making the commissions from your affiliate products as you should? Now you can build a list and succeed online. What are you waiting for?

Marketing Basics Top CEO's Still Don't Know-If They'll Admit It!

By Joy Gendusa

Sometimes the simplest data is the best. Marketing is not complex if you know the basics - that's true with anything by the way. Here are some tools that are brilliantly simple and with them you really won't have to sweat the small stuff. Tip #1) The more that your potential customers see your name in front of them, the more likely they are to call your number (and not someone else's) when they need the services you offer.

Many marketing efforts go unrewarded, not because they were off target but simply because they weren't given enough of an opportunity to work. Showing your TV commercial one time, running an ad in the newspaper once, or doing one mailing of postcards is not enough to grab and keep the audience's attention.

Get your name out there, do it on a regular basis and people will remember you when they need someone in your line of business. Actually, this particular tip cannot be stressed enough - and failure to adhere to it is the #1 reason new businesses fail. Tip # 2) Measure your Return On Investment (ROI) in terms of actual MONEY not response rate. An advertising vehicle is working when the MONEY that it brings in has more value than the MONEY and time that is spent on the marketing.

Don't fall into the trap of becoming discouraged by a small number of callers responding to a large number of pieces. If you spend several hundred dollars to be in the view of a few thousand possible leads, it may only take a few customers responding for you to make enough of a profit for this type of marketing to be valuable. The usefulness of any vehicle can only be determined after the amount of income generated by the promotion has been calculated. If you spend 1/5 of what you generate or generate 5 times what you spend, your campaign was successful.

Tip #3) It is much easier to "sell" a prospect once you get them to call or come in to your store. In "2-Step Marketing", step 1 is to get them interested; step 2 is having them speak to a representative to get all the details - and get "closed" by that representative.

Your design must be eye catching and informative, but don't try to close the sale by explaining all of the details in one piece of advertising. The details of a business transaction often take many more words to explain than the main concept of what is being sold. All you want to do is prompt prospects or repeat customer to call to get the rest of the details once you have gotten their interest.

Marketing can be as simple as 1-2-3 when you know the basics. By no means have I given you all the basics here, but by learning and implementing these 3 marketing fundamentals, you are already on your way to marketing success. Valuable Marketing Lessons Not Taught Anywhere Else Let's face it - marketing is expensive. You need to be an educated consumer these days if you want to be in control of your spending and your income. The problem is that most people don't know what they don't know - and the toughest thing about that is - how do you know exactly where to look when you don't even know what you're looking for?? And to make matters worse, many business owners spend thousands of dollars in marketing, trusting so called 'experts' only to fail - and then become gun shy from marketing in the future. The reason for failure could be a multitude of things, but it always comes down to simple elements that can be easily fixed.

Did you know that according to a 2006 survey by the United States Postal Service, 39% of households find advertising mail interesting? And in that same report, only 9% of households find email advertising interesting compared to a measly 3% for telemarketing? But more importantly a business owner needs to know how all these advertising mediums work together and which one is right for their specific business and which ones are not. Some of the smartest CEOs in the nation (I met many of them at the Inc 500 Conference) do NOT know the basics of how to market! Wow! If these CEOs - who run the nation's fastest-growing privately-held companies- do NOT know marketing basics, what about all the small business owners that are struggling?

Instead of years of trial and error, consider marketing training - boot camp style. A boot camp is an intense way of learning about a particular topic. It is for this reason, I decided to organize a marketing boot camp along with my dear friend, Marsha Friedman, CEO of Event-Management Services Inc., a leading national publicity firm. We called it the Power Marketing Mania Bootcamp and it was held in March 2007. We had marketing experts from every aspect of marketing speak to attendees in a two-day agenda which included basic marketing topics such as:

* The "Truth" About Direct Mail Marketing * How Publicity Fuels Marketing * Out-of-the-Box Marketing Ideas - Get Clever! * Search Engine Optimization * Developing a Website Geared Toward Increased Sales * Internet and Email Marketing

As a business owner, I have learned by doing it first, making mistakes, doing it again and again and have spent years educating my prospects and customers so they could skip the growing pains. The focus of our Power MarketingMania Bootcamp was to have business owners create marketing action plans to implement tailor-made strategies for their businesses so results are assured. Bootcamp training can be a valuable power-based strategy for learning what you don't know that you don't know.

Even though the Boot Camp is over, one can still get the valuable data from the speakers in a recorded DVD set. Attending the Boot Camp "DVD-style" gives one rewind and replay features that allow one the opportunity to re-listen to salient points that you might have missed if you had attended it live. Likewise, I tend to find that the more I go over something, the more knowledge I glean from the repetition, which makes me better at that subject overall.

There is not one marketing silver bullet anymore. Educated business owners need to be educated marketers in order to succeed in this over-inundated advertising world. You need to be smart, be able to think outside the box and not go broke while doing it, but rather achieve prosperity. So get smart - get educated in marketing basics!

How Much Money Does It Take to Get Started in Internet Marketing?

By Sean Mize

Obviously every web business is going to have different cash needs upfront. I am going to focus on the basic finances needed to start a simple web business.

I'll tell you what the basics are: you're going to need to have a website, and most decent web-hosting runs anywhere from ten dollars to thirty dollars per month. Anything that's less than ten dollars a month, you really should be running the other way, in terms of websites. And I'm not going to name any names here, but generally if it's less than ten, really less than twelve dollars a month, it's missing something.

Whether that's customer-service support--and if you're a beginner you're probably going to need to be able to make a phone-call or two, and you're going to need to have somebody to answer those questions for you. And if you find some web-hosting that’s free, or five dollars a month, really, you're not going to find the support that you need. You need to spend between ten or twelve, and probably thirty dollars a month on web-hosting.

You need to have an auto-responder service, and any good auto-responder service is going to cost you at least twenty dollars a month, or if you purchase a program you're looking at several-hundred dollars.

I recommend buying an auto-responder service and just paying twenty or thirty dollars a month for that service. And then the third thing that you're gonna need to do is--and this is a time-cost is to drive traffic.

And you can drive free traffic by writing articles, by writing press releases, by doing free classified advertising--I don't really recommend that. You can spend money on E-zine advertising, you can spend money on pay-per-click, I wouldn't spend much on that right up front.

The biggest investment in traffic when you're just getting started is probably your time, until you're experienced. And even if you come into this business with a hundred-thousand in the bank that's ear-marked for building your internet business, I would not recommend creating a five-thousand dollar monthly budget for advertising until you at least have a feel for what you're doing online.

You should work, even if you have a five-hundred dollar a month budget--you should really work for a few hundred dollars in out-go every single month online for the first few months, until you figure some things out.

Learn what works, learn what doesn't--learn how to write a basic email before you start spending five-thousand dollars a month in driving traffic. Keep that marketing budget down to a few hundred dollars a month.

Blog Your Way Up The Rankings And Make Money

By Chris Haycock

OK, here's another way to rank well and make a tidy profit. You do have to spend a little time on this each day. Only 15 minutes or so once you are set up (and that only takes about half an hour), so that's not exactly hard work is it?

Right, I'm sure everyone reading this has heard of Blogs, essentially a shortening of "Web Blogs". These are simply online diaries in which people post daily, weekly, monthly, or whenever, accounts of their lives and happenings. Blogs have become incredibly popular over the last year or so, and almost everyone you speak to seems to have one.

What does this tell us? Well, there is a huge audience audience out there, and we can use this to make money. How? Well, Blogs are set up in such a way that search engines just love them. They often have great content, they are visited often, and can get an amazing number of links back to them. Linking as we know being one of the great secrets of high ranking with search engines.

They are simple and straightforward to set up with little or indeed no technical expertise (believe me, if I can do it, anyone can). All you need to do is go to www.blogger.com follow the simple instructions, and you can set up your own blog. It's absolutely free and takes only a few minutes. From there you can start promoting your products, or other peoples products, which is where the big money comes in.

When setting up your blog use your main keyword in its title. For example, "Roller Blading". If the title has already been taken just be a little creative and call it "Roller Blading Planet" or "Roller Blading World", something like that. Use your own imagination.

Now you need say ten or a dozen optimised articles on your niche subject. This is really not as scary as it sounds. You don't have to be Shakespeare. However, if you don't want to create them yourself just go to www.elance.com and have someone write them for you.

All you need to do then is post an article a day to your blog. You can also write a press release about your blog and submit it through www.prweb.com Use search function on blogger and find related blogs to yours. Comment on these blogs, make genuine comments by the way, and link back to yours.

The great thing about blogs is that unlike websites where you have to create a new page each time you add an article, with blogs, each new post is seen as a new page by the search engines. When you realise that you can add a new blog post in literally just a few seconds you can see the power of this system

Using this basic formula it is possible to have your blog ranked very highly with the search engines with very little effort or technical know how. And don't forget, you can do all this for no cost. If that isn't a great little idea, I don't know what is. Give it a go.

Niche Marketing, What Is It?

By Mireille Miskulin

Let us break down the component words into their constituent pieces and define each for better comprehension.

Niche is defined as: A specialized but profitable corner of the market.

Marketing is defined as: The action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.

Reuniting the two words together, niche marketing means promoting or selling a product or service in a special area of demand. All that really means is that a product or service is being sold to the people who are most interested in that particular product or service and not to the world in general.

Big businesses frequently use niche marketing. An example of big businesses using niche marketing is when a company such as HP or Cannon advertise their all-in-one copy/printer/scanners to the home computer user while at the same time advertising single function machines to large businesses.

It is more cost effective to advertise to a specialized market than it is to advertise to a nonspecific market. Capitalization of a more effective advertising budget is one of the things that make niche marketing so attractive to sellers.

Niche marketing must be designed to meet the unique needs of the targeted audience. Niche marketers must customize their product to meet those unique needs. If, for example, you have designed a product to make website promotion easy enough for a novice website owner to do it, those who own websites will be most interested in your product. People who do not own a website or do not want to own one will not be interested in your product or service. If you have written an e-book that will explain how to start and succeed at network marketing, those who are looking for that information are your niche market.

Utilization of niche marketing to promote your products or services is very effective and cost efficient, especially when the specific audience become buyers of that product or service.

Internet Marketing Business - Start With MVP Strategy

By Joel Christopher

You cannot expect to be a true blue Master List Builder if you do not know the core principles that will make you the MVP of not just the Master List Builder system but also in all other aspects of your life.

You might be having all those energy and potential inside of you, but if you are not able to channel it properly, you will find other people who are less talented (but better managers of their resources and MVP’s of their time!) inching their way upward while you stay on the sidelines watching them succeed.

Life does not have to be that way for you. You can actually emerge and be your own MVP, if you work at it. One of the main things you have to remember in any endeavor is that you ought to have a sense of mastery over whatever you decide to do.

And on top of that you have the MVP strategy so that you can be the most valuable player you could ever be!

M stands for Mission

A mission is not always imputed. Sometimes fate may hand it over to you through a circumstance, turning point in your life or another person’s admonition. But you do not really need to hear drum rolls in order to know your mission in life. You can sometimes see it in the quiet whispers of your routine.

A mission will help you act accordingly. Having a mission is synonymous to making your life’s compass point you to your north where you will find utmost stability. A man without a mission is a man without a direction.

V stands for Vision

Of course, the thing . You must be able to see yourself succeeding in that mission before it actually happens. Many a successful person has claimed that he or she has already seen himself or herself in that state of success long before it actually materialized in their lives.

Mere vision will not make you a successful person instantly, but having the right vision will definitely help take you there with flair.

P stands for Passion

Passion is a very broad word. It could be further divided into two. It may be about your skills or favorite things. Or it may be something that you have direct personal experience. You cannot share what you do not inherently have.

You may have the mission and the vision, but without the passion to sustain you in it or the ability to make it happen, you will find that the mission and vision is a mere dream.

Give a Boost to Your Blog or Website With PLR Articles

By Max Lloyd

PLR articles stands for private label rights articles and are a very inexpensive way to get content for your blog or web site. Original author of the article waives any copyright, and when you purchase PLR articles, you can do pretty much whatever you want to with them. This includes publishing PLR articles as is, re-branding, editing, changing them and combining pieces from different PLR articles into a larger article or ebook.

Why PLR articles and what is so important about them? Content is a king on the internet and not just any content, but unique and original. As online entrepreneur, you constantly have to produce updated content for your online properties (blog, website, ezine) to stay on a top of search engines game. When you buy PLR articles, you are buying content cheaply, can modify articles as you wish and do not spend valuable time on article research and writing.

You might ask why not to use free reprint articles and pay for PLR articles? To start with, you can not change a content of free reprint articles and required to publish a link back to someone else website. That way you are building links for your competitor, since most likely free article you want to publish will be related to your business or niche.

Buy PLR articles or write yourself? Unless you are a writer or just enjoy writing articles, you’ll find writing articles lengthy and time-consuming process. Think about a time you have to spend to put together a small set of 100 articles. If writing articles is not for you, another option is to hire a ghostwriter at Elance. However, be ready to spend $5-$8 per article and sometime even more. Cost of producing unique content will add up quickly.

PLR articles give you the best shot to add content to your website or blog. You can buy them in bulk at significantly lower price than hiring a ghostwriter, with average price ranging at 15-25 cents per article. Another huge benefit of PLR articles to me is that a research on the topic of the PLR articles has already been done for you. You don’t need to spend valuable time (hours or even days) to research a niche and write an article.

Frequently, search engines duplicate content cited as a disadvantage of using PLR articles. It sounds to me as a gray area, since duplicate content can be found all over internet, especially with proliferation of RSS feeds. These days thousands of websites subscribe to Yahoo News feed or Google blogs feed, and do you think all these sites get punished for trying to provide up-to-date information to visitors? What’s a point then to provide access to RSS feeds? How about a web master (or blog owner) who found a good article (in article directory) related to interests of her visitors? Does it mean she just stop cold there and don’t even think about re-publishing article? I’ll leave it up to you to think about it.

I am a lazy person and frequently publish PLR articles as is or with minimal changes, after all there are only so many hours in a day. However, if you want to get maximum benefit from PLR articles, I suggest rewriting them slightly or to use them as a basis for expanded article to avoid having same content on your website as on someone else site. Here are few ideas – write introduction and conclusion, add few sentences here and there, rearrange paragraphs and fine-tune article with keywords related to your website. Do not be discouraged by a fact that you need to rewrite an article, it is much easier to rework already produced article than to write a new one from scratch.

Private label articles normally come as a word or plain text file that you can edit and copy pieces from to create unique article. PLR article packages are good and inexpensive way to test and see whether PLR articles will fit into your online business model. I am certain you will be pleased with the results, once you start using them.

How To Write Web Content That Sells Your Company

By Laurence James

People read differently on the Internet, because they want and expect different things from websites than they do from newspapers or printed corporate literature. For a start, it's 25% harder to read on a screen than it is on paper, (1) and Web readers are also a notoriously fickle bunch, scan reading your pages at best, and ready to leave your site at the click of a mouse.

I'm not usually a fan of generalized ‘catch all' rules, but there is a handy way of structuring your Web copy to attract and retain fickle readers. The rule is encompassed in a simple acronym - ‘AIDA' - that is, ‘Attention, Interest, Desire and Action'. Although this rule is not foolproof, if you make use of the AIDA principle in your Web writing you'll instantly improve your chances of keeping those all important readers. Let's look at each stage a bit more closely.

Attention

Put simply, this is the punchy, emotive title that draws your reader into your body copy. You can use a sub-header too if needed. Both should talk directly to the target reader, and include a benefit that shows the value for them in continuing to read your content. Our headline above is a good example - ‘How to Write Web Content that Sells Your Company'. This shows you exactly what you'll get if you keep reading, and what precise benefit you'll get out of the content as a result. As a further example, a sub-header to this could be - ‘One simple rule to instantly improve your online copywriting'. Headlines are crucial, if people are scan reading your website and the information they want is not immediately evident, perhaps it will be on your competitor's site.

Interest

This is the section where you briefly outline the main selling points of exactly what you're offering, in order to stir the reader's interest. Details here should be punchy and to the point, using short sentences and paragraphs to outline the main features and benefits of your product or service. Let's look at a quick example, complete with title:

‘The Amazing Widget that Saves Water in Your Home'

Since 1995, ACME's ‘Water Widget' has been saving water in homes across the UK. Easily fitted to your water tank, our award-winning device cuts bills by 25%. Sold with a 10-year guarantee, the ‘Water Widget' is the country's leading water management system.

Desire

This is where you make the reader really want what you're selling, where you use emotive ‘benefits' based reasoning to create real ‘desire' for your product or service. This section is all about solving your reader's problems, giving them examples of how the features of your product or service can provide tangible benefits to them in their daily life. At this point it's a good idea to get into the mindset of your target reader, and imagine a situation where your product or service could help them. You can then write this as a ‘mini-story'. Let's consider an example, put together with the other text above:

‘The Amazing Widget that Saves Water in Your Home'

Since 1995, ACME's ‘Water Widget' has been saving water in homes across the UK. Easily fitted to your water tank, our award-winning device cuts bills by over 25%. Sold with a 10-year guarantee, the ‘Water Widget' is the country's leading water management system.

Despite leaking mains and hosepipe bans, water companies just keep raising bills. But your family still needs showers and baths. You have to water the garden and wash the car. It's easy to resent rising prices.

There is a solution. By simply fitting the ‘Water Widget' to your existing water tank, you can maintain your current level of water usage while saving money.

Our unique patented system means your water usage is constantly monitored, efficiently managing flow rates based on what you need. And with proven cost savings of over 25% a year, this is good news for your bills and bad news for the water company.

(Certainly not Shakespeare, but you get the idea).

Action

The final stage of this Web writing process is to get your reader to act on the information you've given them. The last thing you want after all your hard work is to lose them at the end. If you don't give people a strong direction on what to do next - a ‘call to action' - they will simply say to themselves ‘that's nice, what do they expect me to do about it?' - and leave your website. So create a sense of urgency for your reader, and tell them clearly what to do with the information you've presented to them. Here's an example:

‘For further details on the ‘Water Widget' phone ACME now on 0845 123456, or email waterwidget@acme.com. Alternatively, visit our online store to order your Water Widget now.' (The italic text would obviously be links on a real site).

Try using the ‘AIDA' rule on all your web pages, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the results.

Five Reasons Most Affiliate Marketers Fail

By Anita Buchan

Article directories are full of articles about how to succeed as an affiliate marketer. It often seems like I can't get away from websites telling me they'll give me the secret to becoming a millionaire in fifteen minutes. And the number of affiliate marketing courses out there is growing all the time.

So why isn't everyone a successful affiliate marketer? After all, there's all this advice out there. Even if most of it is rubbish, with enough searching and by taking advice from reviews sites it is possible to find the good. But beginner affiliate marketers still make the same mistakes, time after time.

So, instead of an article telling you how to become a successful affiliate marketer, here's one telling you how to fail. If you don't make any of these mistakes, you'll be doing better than 95% of beginning affiliate marketers.

1. Sit back and hope you'll be lucky.

You might be. You might also win the lottery. But I wouldn't put much faith in either happening. I am sure that there are people out there who have done nothing but thrown up a website and earned money from it. But there are far more people who have done nothing but thrown up a website and ended up only wasting their own money.

2. Promote products you don't believe in.

Insincerity shines through. People can tell if you're lying. The words sound rehearsed and often like a repeat of the sales pitch. You will probably also end up sick of it, and if you have any conscience at all, you should feel guilty about the fact that you are sending people to a poor quality product.

Another thing to avoid is promoting products you haven't actually bought. Always read a product carefully before you start trying to sell it. Buy it through your clickbank account if you want some money off! But not knowing anything about a product will make you sound phoney, will mean you are unable to answer questions about it, and will mean you are reliant on the author's own sales pitch for information.

3. Expect people to visit the collection of links you claim is a website.

People don't visit websites with no content. Would you? They're even less likely to come for a repeat visit, and you'll have about as much chance of reputable sites linking to you as of winning the lottery. You won't get listed in any directories either, and your search engine ranking will suffer. Good content leads to more visitors and more sales. Pre-selling something well can up the conversion rate dramatically.

4. Treat your visitors and subscribers as cash machines.

They're not. By clicking on your affiliate links, they're making you money. And why should they do that if you give them nothing in return? People don't visit your website or subscribe to your mailing list because they feel like you deserve a bit of extra cash. They do so because they want something, usually information. You have to give that to them.

5. Give up.

Most affiliate marketers give up. They make mistakes, they lose money, they get discouraged, and they stop trying. The success stories are the ones who kept going, who kept believing that it was possible to make a living affiliate marketing. You need to believe the same, and be prepared to work hard for it.

If you avoid these mistakes, your chances of becoming a successful affiliate marketer increase dramatically. Committing any of them is likely to cost you time and money; but even if you have, they are easily fixed. Content can be added to a website, products can be researched more thoroughly, your sales pitch can be adjusted and you can always put in more work than you have been.

Does it sound boring? Yes. Is it difficult and often frustrating? Yes. But seeing your traffic increase, and then watching the sales start to come in is extremely exciting. That feeling alone makes it all worth it. And the money doesn't hurt either! The hardest part of affiliate marketing is always getting started. When you are up and running, word will spread about your site and traffic will grow by itself.

Just don't commit any of the above mistakes, and you will already be ahead of the pack.

The 3 Critical Steps for New Affiliate Marketers

By Jo Mazak

If you have been planting thoughts of quitting your day job and venture out as an affiliate marketer, you may find it useful to follow these three critical steps that can jumpstart your career in the internet marketing world.

Step 1:

Identify an area of interest that you are passionate about or something that you are quite knowledgeable at. This is such that you will not be bored and forced to develop your affiliate website in the later stage. Besides, working on your own means that you should have some fun, right? Why force yourself doing something that you have a remote interest in.

Furthermore you can add a personal insight based on your background and give your visitors the impression that you are an authority in the field. This way, you gain their mutual trust and eventually will encourage them to buy the products that you recommend.

Why sell something on bass fishing when you have never even set foot on a fishing boat before? Your potential readers are hobbyists and they may see through you. So start off on the right foot and do something which you are keen and have adequate knowledge.

Step 2:

Search for good paying merchants that offer products or services related to your area of interest. When choosing the products, you have to consider the conversion rate, which means the number of visitors that turned into buyers.

There are a lot of affiliate networks and affiliate programs that can provide you with the most profitable products and best-paying merchants. You should trust your own judgment when choosing a particular product to start promoting.

Once you have your product in sight, buy a domain name and sign up for reliable web hosting services. You would not want to use free web pages as this will give an unprofessional image of your business. Build your site with good and quality contents, product reviews, testimonials and offer free gifts.

Step 3:

Now you have your website and product in place, you are ready to promote as an affiliate marketer. This is the most crucial step as it involves the success of your career as an internet marketer.

It is definitely possible to earn large sums of money in a short period of time especially if you are promoting high-ticket products. Although these may be hard to sell, however, with the right marketing and traffic generation strategies, you can easily convert your targeted visitors to buyers.

Continue to educate yourself in the areas of internet advertising, both paid and free. There are a lot of guide books dedicated to teach new affiliates to promote their affiliate website effectively.

More importantly, be creative, be smart and eventually you will achieve your goals.

7 Methods To Promote Your Affiliate Website

By Scott Roy

Affiliate websites, like all sites, need to be promoted in order to be successful. After all, you can have the best site in the world but if no one sees it then you aren't going to make any money from it. Using any or all of the 7 marketing methods listed below will help increase your Google PageRank, search engine rankings, and most importantly visits to your site.

1. Search Engine Submission
Once an important step in promoting your website, search engine submission has become a small part of promoting Affiliate Websites. Don't bother paying a company to submit your website to 50,000 search engines. There really isn't any value in it anymore. You may still want to submit your site to the big three (Google, Yahoo, MSN) but even this is starting to lose value. Of the seven promotion methods, this is by far the least important. Why has search engine submission lost its value? Because if you successfully follow the other techniques below then search engines will find your site from links on other sites.

2. Directory Submission
There are a lot of free and paid directories online and it is important to get your site listed on as many of them as possible, especially the ones with high PageRank. Directories offer one-way backlinks (more valuable than reciprocal links) and are widely used by surfers to find information and sites they are looking for. There are various companies and software programs developed to help you get your site on directories. An important factor to remember when submitting to directories is to include a lot of keywords in your site's description area.

3. Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising
Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing are valuable tools to help get more visitors to your site. By paying to get your keywords to the front page of search results you are bound to increase your traffic. You will want to be careful with this form of advertising however because its costs can quickly get out of hand. You may only be paying $0.10 per click but if you get 1000 clicks in a day that is $100/day. It's worth it if you end up making more that $100 each day from those clicks but you will want to keep close tabs on this.

4. Article Submission
Article submission has quickly become one of the most effective marketing strategies to come along in years. The process is fairly simple and allows for a great many backlinks to your site and helps you look like an expert in your field. For example, if your affiliate website is all about mountain bikes then write an article about 'Great Places to Mountain Bike in Montana'.

Once you have written the article you can submit it to literally thousands of article websites on the Internet. The more websites that pick up your article, the better. The most important part of your article is the signature at the bottom. Make absolutely sure that you have a link to your affiliate website within your signature so that people can click it and visit your site. Article websites are quickly indexed by search engines resulting in a lot of links to your affiliate marketing website.

5. Forums
Similar to articles, forums give you the opportunity to inform people about your topic while at the same time having a link back to your site in your signature. Find forums that discuss relevant topics and answer peoples' questions. This way you appear as an expert and people are more likely to visit your affiliate website. Like directory and article submission, forum posts help add one-way backlinks to your affiliate website which, in time, will increase your PageRank and search engine rankings.

6. Word of Mouth
Once you get people to your website, word of mouth is a visitor to your site telling someone else to visit your affiliate site. You can encourage people to do this by having a tell-a-friend box on your site. This way, the visitor can quickly put their friend's email address into the box and then software on the website can send the friend an email. People are more likely to do this than open their email software and write an email to a friend about your site. Also, since you are writing the content of the email, you can ensure that it mentions important elements of your site and encourages people to visit.

7. Opt-in Newsletter
This is a terrific marketing technique to encourage people to keep coming back to your affiliate website and potentially making you money. Add a newsletter sign-up box on your site to get a mailing list of people that want more information from you. Once you have a list of people then start sending newsletters weekly or monthly (I wouldn't send them daily as this may turn people off) that include some valuable information as well as links back to your site. If your site sells widgets, send a newsletter describing a new widget or telling them about a sale.

One very important note to make about sending newsletters is never send them to people that didn't ask for it. Spamming people with your newsletter will quickly get you blacklisted and greatly hurt your business.

In Conclusion...

Site promotion is just as important, if not more important, than building a great site. There is no point having a great affiliate website if no one knows it is out there. You certainly won't make any money from your affiliate site if you do not get people to come to it. Make sure you follow these 7 promotion techniques to increase site visitors and earnings.

Are You Being Ripped Off By Clickbank Merchants?

By Andrew Williams

I see affiliates from two perspectives.

Firstly as an affiliate, I see myself as a business partner to those merchants that I promote. I send them traffic, and if I make sales for them, I expect to be paid for my efforts in the form of a predefined percentage or lump sum.

As a merchant, I see my affiliates as partners and value the traffic they send me. My utmost priority is to make sure that any sales that are made are credited to the affiliate that sends me the traffic. This is essential if my affiliates are going to trust me and put effort into promoting my products. This is essential if I want my business to grow!

Most of my own products are related to internet marketing and webmaster tools. Because of the nature of these products, those visitors are likely to be knowledgeable of affiliate programs and probably Clickbank as well.

Imagine this scenario:

Joe goes to Google and searches for "webmaster tools". Something caught his attention over in the Pay Per Click ads, an affiliate link to a product that promises to make link exchanges easier.

"Hmmm" thought Joe. "That looks like a great tool".

Joe clicks on the PPC link and is redirected to a sales page. Scrolling to the bottom of the page, Joe sees that the product is $97.

"I want this", thought Joe, "but $97 is a bit steep".

Joe searches the webpage for that magic link, and he finds it easily.

"Great" says Joe out loud. "A link to a Clickbank affiliate program, and this program pays 50%".

After a few minutes, Joe has signed up for the affiliate program, created his own affiliate link, typed it into his browser, and revisits the sales page.

Joe's mouse clicks the buy link. He fills in his credit card details and clicks the purchase button. Closing his browser, he checks his e-mail. He watches as two e-mails are downloaded to his machine. The first is the download information for the new software he purchased, the second one is an e-mail with the Subject "Congratulations Joe, you have made a sale".

Joe checks his stats online for this new affiliate program and sure enough, he has made $48.50 commission on this purchase. In other words, he only paid $48.50 for the product.

OK, what is wrong with this scenario?

Is it fair that Joe used his own affiliate link to make a purchase?

What about the affiliate who advertised this affiliate program at Google? That affiliate paid for the click that started the sale process, yet did not get the commission.

What is going through the minds of merchants who place links to their affiliate programs on their sales page?

I would imagine that some merchants think about these points:

* I want to make $48.50 per sale minimum.

* If I offer it for $97 and give 50% commission to affiliates I will make my goal of $48.50 per sale.

* By adding an affiliate sign up link to the sales page, I can encourage people to sign up for my affiliate program, buy through their own link and get the software for the real price of $48.50, but the customer will be happy thinking they saved $48.50.

*Great plan!

I am sure that a lot of merchants don't see things this way - they just don't think hard enough about their affiliates.

A merchant that uses a link to his/her affiliate program on the sales page is using affiliate traffic as free traffic (whether they intend to or not). After all, the merchant does not need to spend time optimising pages or buying traffic - their affiliates will do that and send the traffic to the sales page for free. If an affiliate sends someone who becomes a customer, the merchant will make their money.

The big problem here is that being an affiliate is hard work. You do have to create content, buy and review products, possibly even pay for advertising. If YOU are doing these things as an affiliate, is your merchant doing their bit to protect your you? Unfortunately the majority of Clickbank merchants don't, and affiliates waste their time building pages and buying advertising to promote merchants who don't deserve it.

The bottom line
----------------

If you are promoting products aimed at webmasters, the traffic you send will likely know how to "steal" your commission. In this situation it is vital to only promote merchants without the affiliate sign up link.

If on the other hand you are promoting products to the general public, e.g. weight loss products, dog training eBooks etc, this affiliate sign up link poses less of a problem since most of the traffic you generate wont be affiliates themselves (most wont even know what an affiliate is) and wont have the necessary skills to sign up at Clickbank, create a link and purchase through their link just to get a commission.

What can you do?
----------------

If you find a merchant that you want to promote and they have an affiliate sign up link on the sales page, contact them. Tell them about your concerns and that they should treat you as a partner, not the source of free traffic. Suggest that they remove this affiliate sign up link.

The usual reaction I get
------------------------

Merchant: "I get a lot of affiliate sign ups from this link, there is no way I am removing it!"

Ask the merchant how many of those affiliates ever make a sale or ever send any traffic. This is exactly my point. The merchant is getting a lot of sign ups purely to get a discount. For every person who signs up as an affiliate to get a discount, there is one affiliate somewhere being robbed of his/her rightful commission.

Most of the "affiliates" you get via a sign up link on the sales page are only signing up to get a discount, they are unlikely to ever try to sell that product.

The only affiliates who will promote the product, are those that buy the software, use it and like it. They see the benefits and can sell it well to their visitors. These are the only affiliates worth getting, and you wont get them from an affiliate sign up link on the sales page.

The best way of getting hard working affiliates is to protect your affiliates from this type of link hijacking, gain their trust and do everything you can to help them out. Build a relationship with your affiliates and most of all, make sure they are rewarded for the traffic they send. To this end, remove that affiliate sign up link, and when someone buys your product, send them an e-mail outlining the benefits of your affiliate program. Active affiliates respond well to knowing their merchants are protecting their interests.

A final thought
---------------

If there are two similar products, similar price, similar commission, one sales page with an affiliate sign up link, one without, which would you prefer to promote? If you want to make money online with affiliate programs, take it seriously and start contacting merchants.

Make Real Money With Affiliate Programs

By Lewis Low

Affiliate programs are available for a whole gamut of online activities. Some are hot as pay per click advertising and others are as old as pay per sale. While you can see all businesses, big and small, making money online with affiliate programs, the question you must ask yourself is - how do I also select solid affiliate programs in order to make assured money online?

Benefits of Affiliate Programs
Enrolling for affiliate programs affords you huge benefits. First, you can be your own boss working from the comfort of home with no hustle. Next, it is low cost or zero to start with. You don't need to have your own product to sell, while thousands of advertisers out there waiting to share their benefits with your in exchange for your effort to promote their businesses.

Third Party Affiliate Programs
There are virtually unlimited individual affiliate programs offered on the Internet, many being through third party affiliate networks such as ClickBank, Commission Junction, ShareSale etc. These companies connect a large number of advertisers together via their own network, enable you to access them all at one location with a single registration. Tracking performance is made easy, there is only one technical support to contact, things are easier to manage, and the best yet, payment is received as one convenient monthly lump sum.

Thus, it's recommended that you sign up for third party affiliate networks. This will save you lots of time; while you can collect your money altogether.

Watch Out for Cheats
Because you are utilizing a third party service, there are several pitfalls for which you must watch out. Some unethical affiliate networks may not treat affiliates honestly while tracking sales and leads (which means you can sometimes lose your hard-earned money). Payment thresholds can be fairly high - a minimum of $50 US is de rigueur for international publishers. A payment delay of two months or more from the date of a sale/lead generation is not uncommon. Finally, some affiliate programs claim are not responsible for missing checks or checks that are waylaid in the post.

However, it’s a different story with big, established affiliate programs like Google AdSense and Amazon. You can participate in their affiliate programs without fear of being cheated.

Know Thy Self
Don't select an affiliate program only based on their payment scheme, instead, see the kind of people who are most likely to visit your website - which means relevance. For example, if you are targeting home based business on your site, links to affiliate programs of text-books sale would most likely generate less revenue than banners that link to paid survey companies. The most important rule of choosing an affiliate program is to know your target audience and your own skills sets.

Last but not least, do not join every single affiliate program that comes your way. Internet marketing gurus suggest sites that make the most money from affiliate programs are those promote only few.
